When did this occur? How did this occur? Are you locked out of the user profiles or does your computer load all the way to the user selection screen?

Lost Windows password:

  • Login as Administrator. Try with no password (load safe mode if you don't see Administrator). Press F8 during boot to access Safe Mode.
  • Login as other user (if other user is availible) and manage users. Must be an administrator.
  • Reformat computer.
  • Use 3rd party software to remove password. Like http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html

Tip

Denied Access to the Desktop in Windows XP then take ownership

Logon as Adminstrator and take ownership of the All Users Desktop folder using this method

Home Edition
By default you need to logon with the safe mode to get to the Adminstrator account in the Home Edition however you can add this account to the welcome screen using this reg tweak HERE at my Sky Drive Public.
Microsoft also tells you that you can't access the security tab in Windows XP Home, well you can if you use this simple PATCH download this from my Sky Drive .It can also be done using the Fajo XPSFE tab installer he has a few other goodies up his sleeve check his website HERE for this and much more the file renamer is a great little tool.

Professional Edition
You will need to disable simple file sharing that is tuned on all PC's that are not part of a Network or Domian you don't need to this in the Home Edition its only for the Professional version,Microsoft have there own FIX to do this for you, the Security tab that you need to access is already there all you need to do is click the advanced button shown in red

then select the user to take ownership as shown in the first screendump

I disabled admin and guest account.. when pc will boot.. no boxes to log in.. what should i do i need all the files..

Try booting to Safe Mode by pressing F8 when Windows logo appears. Try logging in using the Administrator account and change the settings for the other accounts. If it doesn 't work, then try reverting to the previous configuration using System Restore.

Can not login on normal mode and when i type in my password its says profile server not found and i have to do it on safe mode and i can not access my files, pictures or documents why is this.

You need to create a new user profile in safe mode and then log into that profile in the normal mode. and for accessing your old files you need to follow the following path c:/documents and settings/user name
and if you get an access denied error follow the following article

Limited User access will not open files in software program

boot into safe mode on xp. when you start the computer and the bios screen comes up start tapping the F8 key. it should take you to the boot selection screen. press your arrow keys to get to the selection "Windows Safe Mode" and press enter. when xp loads the login screen, there should be an admin account now. use that account to set users access to admin rights.
if you dont want that user to have admin rights but still start software that requires admin rights, try this. right-click on the program. go to run as... and choose administrator.

please let me know if this helped you :)
