Question about Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer
Will not scan only print
SOURCE: Canon mp610 scanning problem
The readme says that some USB hubs have an issue.
I was having problems and was connected via a hub. I removed the hub and connected the printer directly to the back of the PC and voila scanning is all good.

Click the arrow next to your printer name at the top of the print window to get the full print set-up menu. Then click on you browser name in a bar about 3/4 of the way down the menu. Select Quality & Media. Go to the bottom and select Grayscale box. This will give you b&w printing from the web.

Yes, could be just for selling ink, but Canon like many others, Brother, HP, Samsung, all are the same way.Any error whether it's ink or printer failure will stop you from scanning. Many people stay away from all in ones for just that reason...
