Problem reading sprite back up file after ROM upgrade

Recently upgraded to windows 6.1 HTC TYTN II rom from 3. Many files including pic, music and backup data become unreadable. HTC customer support recommend to downgrade to 6.0 which I didm but I still can't read those files on my SD card nor restore the backup. Any one have any idea?

Your phone has a Flash ROM, this is where the Operating System is located, it has RAM memory, which is used by the Operating System to run applications, and it has internal memory for storing text messages, contacts, pictures, and other personal data. The microSD is just used to expand your internal memory or to transfer files. Follow me so far?

While you are recommend to backup/synchronize your phone before doing a flash update; your files and settings should still be there. I have flashed my Nokia N95 8GB a dozen times with updates provided to me over the past year and all my data remained after the update; contacts, applications, games, music, and movies we all there after the update. I did a backup of my device everytime to be on the safe side but never needed to use it.

So, when you updated your phone the DRM license probably did not register in the new system, this bug may have been resolved in the new update; downgrading is not going to help resolve the issue.

If you made a backup prior to the update you need to plug the phone into the computer and run the restore application. Moreover, if you made a backup where did you save the file?

The main thing to restoring music is the DRM licenses for your audio files. Sometimes it's easier doing with your computer; you need to have Microsoft Active Sync 4.5 installed on your PC before plugging in your phone. How are you backing up your files?

Ok it should support that size microSD; what kind of files are you trying to read on the card?

What size is your microSD card?

SOURCE: HTC II, Blackberry software driver

Here is the solution for the BBC.

Install instructions from forums:

1) goto hklm>system>versions and change what ever is there to .0.4.2 (The leading . before the 0 needs to be there)
2) Install bbconnect cab file.
3) If you don't get the check boxes at the end of the install (Calendar, notes, etc). Re-run the install (it will remove the 1st instance), I always get it the second time.
4) Wait for Blackberry to finish "setting up device for first use" and let it reboot.
5) On reboot, status will now show the PIN number.
6) Open the Blackberry connect desktop application. (Make sure you have access to your corporate e-mail) If you do you will see "Configure Wireless Device" as active.
7) Plug in the Tilt and wait for Activsync to finish syncing and says "connected".
8) In the BB Connect desktop application hit the "Configure Wireless"
9) When finished unplug Tilt and soft reset.
10) You should be good to go at this point.

- Get BBconnect cab file from: http://www.america.htc.com/mobile/connect/8925/
- Make sure your remove all ActiveSync synchrnonization in Comm Manager -> Active Sync-> Options for your PIM.
- Install cab and run blackberry app
- Go in PIM tab and selct all PIM items you want to sync with

SOURCE: my htc tytn ii stays on align screen after hard reset

Have you completed the alignment procedure? The phone will not let you progress until alignment is complete.

Once complete, click "OK" in the top right corner to exit the screen.

If this has fixed your problem then please take a moment to rate my answer, if not then please give more detail about what's happening and I'll try to assist you further. I don't have your exact model, but have owned a few other HTC models using both Windows Mobile (like yours) and Android operating systems so I'm confident that if the problem has a fix I can help you to find it..

I want to change the language of my HTC Touch HD T8282 from Russian to English. WM 6.1 professional OC CE 5.2.20757 (build 20757.1.4.0) SPL- 1.14.0000

You'll need to download a brand new rom for it. Your phone will run Windows Mobile 6.5 perfectly, so it's definitely time to upgrade. You'll need a computer running at least Windows XP, your USB data cable, as well as Windows Mobile Device Center installed to upgrade your rom. Once the software is installed, connect your phone to your USB, and start the .exe file for the rom. Make sure you have a full battery before upgrading your rom, and DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PHONE even if it looks like it has locked or frozen - it hasn't. The file can be found here. http://www.htc.com/www/supportdownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=2&dl_id=533 Input your serial number, and select the rom upgrade in the drop down box, make sure your phone is connected and charged, and that WMDC is running, and click the file to start the upgrade. Again, DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PHONE even if it looks like it has locked or frozen. Leave your phone upgrading for a while, go have a cup of tea. When you get back, you'll have an upgraded operating system, and a phone with English as the language. Any problems or questions, please feel free to reply.

Change language from italian to english.. htc tyn II pro, thank you

Hi there!
You'll need to follow this steps to change the language of your HTC TyTN II
<p>1. Make sure you install Microsoft ActiveSync in your computer. Do a first time sync between your phone and the computer.</p><p> 2. Disable any screensaver and/or hibernation in your computer.</p><p> 3. Sync and again and flash with the HardSPL rom from OliNex. You can find this HardSPL software from here >> http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/Unsigned_HardSPL_for_Blackstone_OliNex.zip The flashing completes in under 2 minutes.</p><p> 4. Reboot device. TouchFlo3D will launch into the native language the device originally came in. The new rom now enables you to flash other language roms, even official ones from HTC, bypassing licensing and verification checks (of course you should have the relevant ROM).</p><p> 5. Finally, flash again with the newset WWE (World Wide English ROM. You can download the official English ROM here: http://www.htc.com/hk-en/supportdownload.aspx?p_id=13&cat=2&dl_id=287</p><p> 6. Device reboots in english, or the language of the ROM you flashed.</p>
Take note that by doing this, the warranty of your phone will be voided.
Hope this helps

I have an HTC 8925 and when I turn it on, it turns on but it doesn't fully load. The only thing it shows is the ATandT logo on a white background. It does not make any sound or beep or anything in that...

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

From your explanation, it sounds like you've downloaded an app or program that has a driver conflict with the phone's operating system. You may need to flash your phone's ROM (operating system) with a new updated version to get it to work properly again. Since you didn't include who your cellular carrier is, I'm going to assume that it is AT&T. If the phone is not an AT&T Branded phone, disregard these instructions.

This phone is also called the HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T) and there is a new ROM download for the phone which should solve your problem. You'll need to follow the directions EXACTLY to flash your phone's ROM - and I do mean exactly!

This software update is intended for the HTC Tilt 2 for AT&T only and users should not load or attempt to load this version on any other device as it may cause serious issues/damage.

Please note that during the update process, the device will be Hard Reset and anything that is NOT part of the Operating System (contacts, calendar, music, etc) will be permanently deleted; always make a point of backing up your device's data on a regular basis!

Before you proceed, please confirm that this software upgrade is a newer version than what is currently loaded on your device. If it is the same version and your device is operating normally, there is no need to reload the software.

To determine the software version running on your device, go to Start > Settings > System Folder > Device Information > Software Information.

Validate that the ROM version is 2.10.502.4 if it is not, you will need to update the software on you device.

Before you run the ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU), make sure you check and do the following first:

  • USB sync cable is connected to your device and PC to establish a connection with Activesync/Windows Mobile Device Center. If you don't have ActiveSync installed on your PC already, the CD found inside your handset box can be used to install the application. If you lost the disk, please go to www.microsoft.com >Downloads & Trials> Windows Mobile Downloads and download the appropriate application (ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center) depending on your PC's OS. You will also need Outlook or Outlook express installed in order to backup your contacts, calendars, e-mail, tasks etc.
  • Remove your storage card prior to running the upgrade. Do not put it back into your phone until after the upgrade process is complete.
  • The standby and hibernation modes are disabled on the computer.
  • All running applications on the computer have been closed.
  • Ensure that you device has a battery level of at least 50% (Start > Settings > System Folder > Power > Battery) If the battery "dies" during the upgrade process, there is a chance that the device will not recover and will need to be sent to HTC for repair.
  • The update can take several minutes so set aside time when you will not be interrupted.
  • Do Not interrupt the upgrade process or press any buttons on the device until the process has been completed (the device will reset itself when the update is done).
  • Warning: Installing this update will erase all data stored on the device, restoring your device to the factory default settings. Please be sure to back up any important files to preserve your data.

General Procedure on Installing the ROM Update

  1. Back up your personal data from the Mobile Device to your computer using ActiveSync (Windows XP or sooner)/Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows Vista and Windows 7) or a 3rd party backup utility if you want to ensure you don't lose any of your data.
    • If using a 3rd party backup utility, be sure that you are not backing up the Registry as this will cause issues once restored to the device after the update.
    • You will need to reload any 3rd party applications manually. Once you have created your backup file, be sure to copy the backup file to a storage card (ensure that Storage Card Encryption has been disabled on the device if you have enabled it) or to your PC before proceeding with the ROM update.
  2. On your computer, click on the Download link (below) and save the file to your desktop.
  3. Establish a connection between ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center and your device using the provided USB Data cable.
  4. Locate the ROM file (the one you saved in step 2 above) on your PC and double-click on the file to run the ROM Update Utility (RUU) to install the ROM update to your Mobile Device.
  5. Follow the RUU Wizard prompts. When presented with the readme screen, please read the Readme since it provides a lot of valuable information on the upgrade process and what you can expect during the upgrade process. Check the box beside the "I understand the caution indicated above and has reviewed the Readme" and then press Next to continue. The remaining steps will typically involve checking the check box and pressing the Next or Upgrade button until the upgrade is completed.
  6. Restore your personal data back to your Mobile Device using ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center or the 3rd party backup utility you selected.
HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T) ROM Update 2.10.502.4 ' 08.30.2010 then click on: Download when you get to the HTC Downloads page to download the ROM to your PC. Then begin the install.

Hi. I'm not sure which language you want for your ROM, but here is a couple of cooked ROMs (meaning not the official ROMs, so please use them on your own risk), and a couple of Original ROMs:
Original Italian ROM: (http://rapidshare.com/files/49300433/HTC_P4350_ITA_4.17.408.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe) Original English ROM: (http://rapidshare.com/files/49315340/HTC_P4350_WWE_4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe) WM 6.1 English Cooked: (http://www.mediafire.com/?j2mwz44zm4k) Another English Cooked: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469522)

NO audio from HTC Tilt (8925) TyTN II -att-

If you recently completed an upgrade of your phone, you might need to upgrade your SPL to Hard-SPL (3.28, 3.56, etc) and also find a suitable Radio Rom (in charge of your bluetooth, reception and sounds) for the upgraded wm 6.1 rom. If you go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=376 and go into the wiki, you will find a lot of helpful threads. No one can tell you the "best" radio for your area, you will have to try different ones to find which gives you the best combination of bluetooth, gps and reception.

option 1
u can always reset the device for a new start and then try installing all ur programs to ur memory card when it ask for location where to install select storage card there and ur ROM will not be used to store those programs plus ur device will be fast in performance.
always

1.store programs in storage card
2.never install in ROM or ur device memory
3.Always close programs from the Task Manager a small arrow up on right side of screen select all programs and close them after u are done with them u will never be short of RAM.
4. Set ur History and cache folder of ur browser IE or OPERA to Storage card if u cant find the link to do this just google SKTOOLS for Windows Mobile download and install this software will let u configure where to keep ur history and cache files

5.When u recieve files from bluetooth they by default comes in the Device/MyDocuments folder and this will use ur device storage which is limited offcourse so u can google OBEX INBOX install and set the folder of recieving files thru bluetooth to memory card directly this is a very imp tool u will never find it easily i bet.
