How's the lamp?? Sounds like a lamp failure which is the most likely problem with these units. The lamp for that unit is Toshiba p/n# 23311083x but a better source would be and they have it for $199.00 dollars with free shipping...

SOURCE: I have a Toshiba 46hm94P. Just replaced the lamp.

make sure the lamp cover is on because sometimes they have switches on them that turns the on when the cover is on but if its off tv might not come on. If thats not the problem then you might have a bad ballast. Call a local tv repair shop.

This could very well be a problem with the power supply not allowing the TVs to start up but can also be caused by a problem with the TVs firmware. I would suggest downloading the firmware and following the steps from the following link. The download and steps are in the firmware tab after clicking the link. Be sure that even if you have no picture while applying the firmware update that you under no circumstances remove power from tv for at least 15mins. This is to ensure the firmware completely loads. If you remove power while it's still updating the board may be corrupted.

Black screen, green light on the bottom is on, electric plug is on house plug, no picture, was working fine last night, now only black screen!

Do a hard reset to this set, and then check. If it do not help you, check and replace its main digital board. It will be faulty.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

My Toshiba remote control se-r0077 sometimes works to control the DVD player and other times it doesn't. I've tried new batteries and the problem still persist s

One of the best ways to check if an infra-red remote controller is working properly is to look at it using a camera. (a webcam or phone camera will work) The camera will see the infra red radiation as visible light. If the LED lights up (on camera) consistently when buttons are pressed, then it may not be the remote at fault, but rather the receiver in the DVD player. Most of the time though, it IS the remote control at fault, and these are usually easy to get working again.

Couple of things to check are:

1) the battery terminals...
Batteries can leak and corrode the terminals in the battery compartments. Signs of this include rust, green coloured contacts, or a crystalline deposit. If you see any of this then clean the contacts using metal cleaner or some methylated spirit and cue-tips.

2) Broken wires connecting battery terminals to the circuit board...
The soldering in some remotes can be rather poor, and wires can sometimes come loose, especially if a remote has been dropped or bashed about a bit. Unscrew the remote and check everything is connected properly

3) Dirt under the buttons...
This can prevent a button from making contact with the circuit board properly. Unscrew the controller and separate the rubber button pads from the circuit board check for dirt both underneath the pads AND on the metal contacts on the circuit board. Clean as required with methylated spirit and cue-tips and then reassemble.

Hope that helps!

My sony wega kf-50E200A tv keeps turning off. during each cycle the green light blinks 42 times and the tv comes on again for about 3 minutes and it happens all over again

More than likely the power supply is defective, but without testing and the repair manual that is just a guess, you make the decision to replace or repair the TV.

The color on my TV is all pink. I have tried a hard reset but it didn't help.

Your TV has lost a GREEN color from a basic color palette (Red-Green-Blue). It is often caused by:
- damaged LCD cable (which connects the display with a signal board inside the TV),
- damaged video signal cable (ex. SCART, HDMI, VGA),
- damaged video processor (on the signal board).
I can't give you a more accurate answer, because I don't know what is your TV mark and model and, in what situations you have the problem.
