u need to install the network card driver...of your motherboard CD
go to My Computer/ Right click/proeprties/Hardware Tab/Device Manager/Network Adaptor....look for any YELLOW ? or !...if so then neeedto install the driver...get that from the motherboard CD or the Cd that came with the PC...else search in google for the driver giving the network card model(network card model can be located on the properties tab as detailed above) refer image below....
you also may have to configure the network IP address....for that you will need to contact your internet service provider....
Find another computer with a CD-writer and Internet access.
Access the ASUS web-site. Search the site, for your specific motherboard. Select and download the device-drivers for VIDEO and NETWORK. Burn the downloaded files to a CD-R.
Move the CD-R disk to your computer, and install the device-drivers.
The hard drive contains all the necessary drivers that makes the computer function and that includes Internet connection. When you installed the operating system and all other software it does not mean you installed the driver for the motherboard which contains the drivers for the LAN.
Solution:
Run the drivers CD that came with the motherboard. If you don't have the CD. contact the PC manufacturer for the driver CD. Otherwise, you can purchase an add on NIC(network interface card).
You can enable it again, just goto control panel, open network connection, there will be local area connection icon, Right click on it and click on enable.....
If there is problem again use motherboard cd and install lan card drive again...
your motherboard did not automatically recognize the Ethernet card and so therefore, you have to install it your self through your system utility cd install the network. i.e lan. thanks
You can also install a separate lan card on your computer or you can also buy usb to lan adapter that you can insert on your usb drive, you can google USB TO LAN ADAPTER.
