Is you computer 1year old or more?
If so, I notice this kind of problem is caused bythe cpu
overheat it self caused by dust stuck on the cpu "cap".
    if new, that another cause.

One of the things is to hook it to another monitor and see if that still happens. If it does not then it is most likely the screen on the laptop. Not to worry though it could be the cable that connects the laptop motherboard to the screen. When you open and close the lid, it flexes the cable and the little wires in can break. The cable is not cheap though. One way to test this is to change how far the lid opens by flexing it open and closed to see if the screen changes. If it does then it is that cable.

Ok try this, at boot up press F8, when the Menu comes up, choose Safe Mode, but this time instead of going to the desktop, choose System Restore, follow instructions, and when the Calender type window comes up, simply choose a time BEFORE, the time it went faulty. This should completely restore you to working again. As long as there are NO other problems.

The main cause for blue screen is incompatible hardware or software. Before going onto hardware side please ensure that you have installed all COMPATIBLE drivers, you can update drivers from net. If the problem persists even after that you have to focus on the RAM. Check for its compatibility, frequency, proper fitment. You can remove it from its slot clean the contacts and refit. Hope this will solve your problem.

Blue screen on start up

This may be related to faulty memory or your page file (virtual memory) may be damaged.

You can try to remove your ram chips one at a time (boot up) and see if one is bad or make sure your virtual member is set to system managed.

To change your VM settings follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Under Performance, click Settings.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Under Virtual Memory, click Change.
  6. Click No paging file. Click OK, click OK, and then click OK.
  7. Restart your computer.
  8. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  9. Click the Advanced tab.
  10. Under Performance, click Settings.
  11. Click the Advanced tab.
  12. Under Virtual Memory, click Change.
  13. Click System managed sized. Click OK, click OK, and then click OK.

Blue Screen

You could try turning the computer off at the switch when this happens. Sometimes it is a very temporary problem. You would need to wait a few minutes then turn it back on and restart your computer.

Blue Screen

There is a very good page for diagnosing Windows bluescreen STOP messages which should narrow down if it's hardware or software. The page gives a list of all the possible bluescreen entries and links to relevant Microsoft pages where necessary. Take a look at it by clicking here.
