Ink bleeds after printing in HP Photsmart 3108 all in one printer
We have visited their service centre on 24-08-06 at Kalina and met Mr. Pratik during the warranty period. He forwarded the case to Gurgaon under case no 1401841. We wrote letter as above and sent all the print out papers. After removing the print out, the paper after several days too it bleeds if there is any moisture. We request to company that for bulky items like this printer there should be onsite warranty. We lost all hopes as the gurgaon office have not communicated anything in writing and over the phone they said that the vivera ink tends to bleed in moisture and before buying you should have confirmed at the showroom. When we visited the showroom they said that for technical details to call HP consumer no. The print out with them were all laminated and no printout were taken at that moment. My friend suggested to lodge the complaint on this website. Hence we request you to look in this matter and feel cheated as to how a reputed company like HP is not taking any responsibility. I have pledged not to buy any HP computers and laptops, as their carry warranty is so time consuming and risky. For printer. I wasted one whole day at kalina with Mr. Pratik and he too couldn't understand the problem. I have other normal inkjet Hp printer 3745 worth Rs.3000 but that does not bleed. On this basis having faith in HP Company and products, we bought All in one worth Rs 15000. We request if you could assist us as there seems to be a technical fault in the printer and HP are not interested in attending the complaint. Re: ink bleeds after printing in HP Photsmart 3108 all in...
What you could do is , drill a hole in the top of thier ink cartridge and empty out thier ink , then get the refill kit for ink cartridges , and fill the cartridge back up with the ink kit , and new ink in the cartridge should help the bleeding in the cartridge

Did you try printing out the test pattern to see if printer will work in that mode? If so, the ink and heads are good and the issue is perhaps with the driver. If you are using that printer with one of the newer Operating systems the driver you are using may not be all that compatible. HP site useless for help - all they do is refer you to a forum or suggest you buy another printer - an HP naturally! Shame because their printer, when working, are very good, but their service sucks.
The print heads are not replaceable unless you know what you're doing. Even if you did know what you're doing, you need another bad printer of that series to exchange the print heads. It is easier to just buy a new printer that uses the same 02 ink you're used to, especially if you have a CISS system.
I realise these are not for your specific printer but there are others listed on both those sites as well.
cheaper cartridge problems have been on the rise recently and that is for ALL makes of printer.
If you try to clean the contacts be VERY careful cleaning contacts and ONLY use isopropynol on a lint free bud or cloth. Also be very gentle.
I have seen the contacts cleaned and cartridges ruined with other methods of cleaning. Rubbing too hard can also cause a badly set chip to move making it inoprable.
I dont like full prices replacements either which is why I always provide the links
I usually reccomend that people take back any cartridge that does not work right from the get-go.
I dont know of anyone who has had a problem doing that be it a shop refill or otherwise.
No matter if I paid $1 or $100 for a cartrdige I would still expect it to work
Hope this gives you the information you need

Upon a prompt from the printer, I removed the color cartridge which had run out of ink. Strangely enough, this solved the problem. I can now print anything in black and I will have the color cartridge replaced or refilled.
