Question about Seagate (ST3160827AS) 160 GB Hard Drive
400 GB Hard disk from Seagate in dell precision . Data has been recovered using Easy Recovery.the device manger and BIOS shows the hard disk but the disk management doesn't.
how to reformat the drive since disk management does not show it. is there any third party software to reformat it?please mention them.
Your Windows Xp bootable CD should have an option called "Format his file system using FAT32" while installing the OS. Use the option to format it. The only prob is that it creates only a single partiotion. After installing windows you can re-partition using a third party software such as Partition Magic(please note that it will not affect your windows installation as you can first re-size the windows drive to a lower capacity and then partition the un-allocated space.
