Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

You need to replace your bulb. Order a replacement online---it's easy to swap and the instructions are in your manual. If you purchase one from a local dealer you will pay over $150 more!!!

SOURCE: sony kp51 ws500 red screen, 8 blinks

The 8 blinks is pointing to a bad flyback transformer and may be common with this set. (We have one too.)

Why is my sony tv going to standby and blinks 8 times

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. Tv cycles on and off

Sounds like bad capacitors in nthe power supply, or maybe a regulator in the power supply. Have a tech take a look at this TV set for you, as there are no user replacable parts available in the TV set. Good Luck

Set will not power on.. Blinks red LED 8 times

It's a power supply related problem.
The flashing 8 times is a trouble code. A Service Manual for your TV model will have the info on the codes. It could be a bad capacitor or a transformer on the power supply board. If you have some electronic experience, you can find a Service Manual for your TV over the internet. Cost about under $20.

Panasonic Plasa TV's Power light is blinking no pic no sound

The most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The most common thing to go out is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.
