This is usually and most likely caused by the power inverter/board. There are capacitors and other components that can burn out and will cause the power not to be transfered correctly

It sure sounds like the mainpower supply problem, the power supply may be trying to turn itself off because it detects short circuits.

Could be the power board or main board defective, but I suggest you do firmware update first. Go to http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=KDL42V4100&LOC=3#div_pos_30 download the software.

SOURCE: I have a Sony bravia KDL32 L5000. pressing power

Hello,

You need to check the output voltages of the power supply to see which one goes off. It may be due to short circuits some where, if otherwise
the power supply board is dead,do you know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hoping that this will help to solve the problem.....

SOURCE: Hi, i have replaced the

If the T-CON board is dead, you will see black screen (no picture) but you will see slight glow due the backlights is still on. Check the fuse and voltage on the T-CON board, dead main board will not be sending the voltage to the T-CON board.

But you are saying taht you cannot get any button on the TV to work, that will point the problem to be in the main board.

You will need service manual to really go in-depth troubleshooting.

My samsung tv is making clicking noises and won't turn on

Clicking noises may mean a power supply voltage is not staying correct or that board is bad---a suggestion: visit shopjimmy.com who has by model number a list of all the boards used in almost every Samsung Flat screen set made.

Toshiba 32HLX95. Worked perfect till I unpluged it. Know when you plug it in and turn it on you only hear a slight clicking noise but no picture and the red power light does not come on.

Most likelly it's your power supply. the clicking sound is the the power supply trying to turn on. You can check the capacitors sometimes you can see a few bad ones and replace them and that solves the problem. If that does not work you can replace it.

My 40' vivo tv has turned off and won't turn back on but the red stand by light is on??

If the standby light is on and it does not respond, it is most likely to be a problem with the power supply . First try this, unplug and leave the set like that for a few hours. Then plug it back in to see if the tv attempts to turn on when you try to power it up. See if you hear a "click" even if it goes back to standby. Let me know what you found so that I can help you test the power supply board to confirm, if necessary.

Turn it on yesterday and i can hear a clicking noise for approx 5 secs then the standby light comes on and no picture. any advice, or reccomened repair

1st POSSIBILITY.....usually after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to tube ) becomes weak - then TV won't get ON.. means no picture no sound ( in some TVs ''garrrr'' like sound comes - that sound is from EHT.... but it is rare....some times ''click click'' sound comes...it is from relay switch ) ..... but LED blinks - in some TVs along with EHT 1 or 2 components like resistor, transistors, etc will also gets deffective ................ 2nd POSSIBILITY - main capacitor (very big in size) is blowing off...................... - so solution is TV circuit board has to be checked to find whether only EHT is deffective or other components are also deffective - price of EHT will be between Rs.250 (US$ 5) to Rs.600 ( US$ 12) & price of capacitor will be between Rs.50 ( US$ 1) to Rs.150 ( US$ 3) ..........iam from bangalore.....i have no idea about component's price & service charge in your area.....this problem cannot be solved by user unless user is a technical person having idea about components (resistors, transistors,diodes,...etc..), having multimeter , soldering iron & other tools...so my suggestion call TV service engineer or contact panasonic service centre
