HTC P3400i LCD Problem

I have bought HTC P3400i a month ago. Yesterday when I tried to access the phone by pressing the POWER button nothing was visible on screen. Somehow I could barely see the clock. The buttons and the touch screen responses are working fine except for the screen visibility.
I could not even reach HTC service centres in Mumbai as the phone numbers available on HTC website are outdated.
Any help would be appreciated.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have an HTC 8X phone and it has randomly decided to turn off and is now unresponsive to the power button and chargers. It was perfectly fine a second ago with no problems at all. And unfortunately this...

  • First try a 'soft' reset (no data loss)
  1. Just hold the power button down for 30 seconds.
  • If there's no joy there then try a 'hard' reset (may cause data loss though most of your data should be backed up through SkyDrive)
  1. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
  2. Release the VOLUME DOWN button when you see an icon on the screen.
  3. Press the following hardware buttons in sequence: VOLUME UP > VOLUME DOWN > POWER > VOLUME DOWN.
  • If nothing happens that time, try holding down VOLUME UP, VOLUME DOWN and POWER buttons all at once for thirty seconds or until the phone vibrates.
  • If non of these work try them in the same order but after the phone has been charging for one hour.
  • If there's still nothing after this, comment here and I'll post steps for recovery attempts through your PC or Mac.

Good Luck,

On the first run , i just bought it yesterday , white screen with htc logo on it , cannot star it up

If you just bought it and out of the box it's having issues, I'd return it for another if possible. If that's not possible, you can try and perform a factory reset:

Performing a factory reset using phone buttons If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the buttons on the phone.
  1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
  2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button..
  3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.
  4. Press VOLUME UP to start the factory reset.
Hope this helps.

Hello, please can you help me (and bear with me as I am somewhat technically challenged..) I have an HTC Snap S521 that has been working perfectly for the past 7 months.. suddenly my home screen has...

the start menu should still work to get to your settings if not and you bought the phone new 7 months ago take it back to the store phones have a waranty for 1 year and they have to fix it.
If you can't/don't want to take it back to the store you can hard reset it yourself (this will delete everything!)
Power off mode, press VOLUME UP and POWER BUTTON at the same time. The follow on-screen instructions to set everything back up again.

My HTC tatto phone has become very erratic. After every 1 second of making a call the power end menu options come up on the screen. The phone wont hang up after having pressed the "End Call" button. If I...

First, try a factory reset and see if that resolves your problem. I'm afraid that will wipe all the data on the phone, but you will have to do that anyway if you want to solve this problem.

Here are the instructions for the factory reset:

Performing a factory reset via settings
The most convenient way to do a factory reset is via the phone settings.
  1. Press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings > SD card & phone storage > Factory data reset.
  2. On the Factory data reset screen, tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything. Your phone will erase all personal data and restart. It may take a few minutes for the process to complete.
Performing a factory reset using phone buttons
If you cannot turn on your phone or access the phone settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the phone buttons.
  1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the HOME and BACK buttons, and then briefly press the END CALL/POWER button.
  2. Press the ENTER button to begin the reset process. (Otherwise, press the END CALL/POWER button to cancel.)

I bought my HTC hero yesterday, charged it fully and had a quick play on it but now it won't turn on! How do I get it to turn on? (I have tried pressing the power button...)

try taking out the battery for a few minutes, and putting it in and turning it on. if that doesn't work, and since you just bought it, i would take it to the retailer and get a new one.

My HTC p3400i is not coming back to normal mode from flash/bootloader mode..??..Help....

First you can try to soft reset your device. After that, you can try a hard reset just by pressing and holding both the " -" keys right above the answer and end keys and pressing the power button . It will run the ghost image and recover the device ...

Note :

1) make sure your battery is more than 50 % charged .
2)you must do a power cycle in your device ( take out the battery , then press and hold the power button ) before you do a hard reset ...

If none of these helps, you can try to reflash your ROM (Since you're already in bootloader mode), simply plug your PDA to your computer with a USB cable, and download an upgrade ROM from here ( or just download your original ROM from HTC website and flash it using the instructions in the xda-developer forums. Hope this helps.
