It may have just popped out of place and needs to be re-adjusted, but if that''s not the case then the modular head has broken on the ice maker and it should be replaced

SOURCE: I have a Maytag side

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?

Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP

REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK
TEMP IN FREEZER. IF TEMP IS BELOW 0 DEGREES, THATS
OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

Ice maker sounds like it trying to crush ice even on cube setting, dispenser door stays open longer than it should. could this be the solenoid?

Take out the ice bin. There is a steel rod on this bin with a spring. (The ice door is supposed to stay open for an extended period of time to insure all of the ice makes it out.) If you look where the bin was, you're going to see a small square that the rod goes into when the bin is seated correctly. This is a solenoid, but not the one you're thinking of. Usually this gets stick in the UP position not engaging the crushed to cubed rod (ill call it) Usually these get stuck or frozen. Wiggle it with your finger to loosen it and spray PAM (food safe) to lubricate the solenoid plunger (metal) to prevent it from sticking again.

It should look like this.

Frs22zrg ice maker

Hi Don - I see you are having difficulty changing the type of ice that is coming out of your refrigerator. Below are instructions on how to adjust this.

· Take out the ice bin to access the switch in the freezer.
· Underneath the ice bin is a metal rod.
· In the back of the freezer there is a square hole from where the rod came. Put your finger in this hole.
· You should feel a plastic lever. If it's up, push it down. If it's down, push it up.
· Put the ice bin back and try for ice again. You should receive crushed and cubed ice at this time.
· If you push the lever up or down and it doesn't stay in place you should contact an authorized service technician for repair.

If the instructions above do not solve the problem, I am fairly confident that an authorized service agent will be able to restore your appliance to its normal operating condition. You can often locate a qualified service technician on the manufacturer website

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to assist you!

Portable emerson ice machine

The sensor in the bin that detects the ice to tell if its full could be bad. That or the control board.

Ice won't come out of door, no motor noise

Make sure the holding bin is in its proper place. Some have a safety that will not let the dispensing motor to operate if the bin is not mounted properly.

Whirlpool refrigerator won't make ice--just out of warranty

I would have to say control board but you could look for a bin level switch. This is what tells the machine that the ice Bin is full. If it is duty or damaged the machine will never make ice as it thinks there is enough already there

Have a Samsung RF217 Refrigerator that is collecting water in the right vegetable bin? Fridge does not have ice maker.

Just had mine repaired. The evaporator drain is plugged with ice. The solution is to replace the heat sensor and add a piece of metal extending from the small heat coil under the evaporator that supplements the piece already there. The guy that repaired mine used a piece of coat hanger wire for the extension. Except for the heat sensor, it's a repair anyone can do. Just take off the plastic cover on the inside back of the fridge, melt the ice obstruction in the drain and hang a piece of wire from the heat coil into the drain. He also used some metallic duct tape to raise the height of the drain tray on the ends so that it wouldn't overflow in the future.

I just emptied all the ice out of my ice bin to take on a picnic, but now my ice maker won't make more ice. I have had it for 5 years with no problems. What happened? Did some setting get bumped? or...

1. Check to make sure the when you removed the ice bin that you did not leave the lever by the ice tray in the up position. That is the one the stops the making of ice whe the bin is full. This is the only easy solution.

2. Check to make sure that the vent between the freezer side and produce bin is closed. This is used when opened to keep that bin colder than the rest of the fridge. If that isn't it then there a few easy solutions.
