Samsung DLP HLR5067W tv Plug in, turn on, tv lamp lights and warms up, tv stays on about 5 seconds and then freezes for about 10 seconds, audible signal indicates that the tv has been turned on (the lamp does not go out) plays about 5 seconds, freezes for about 10 seconds, and repeats this indefinitely.

Unplug the tv and stay for 5 minutes, then re plug it. if it works, ok. otherwise check the signal. signal coming from the cable might gives such problem or ask your cable operator.

the condition you specified shows that tv has no problem.

Its the problem of DMD board of the tv is gone faulty.or the digital board faulty.as its not quite easy to get it repaire but replacing will cost u near to $600 for this.after replacing it will work.as this is happening due to the current passing through the tv when you power ON is not been handled by the board so the board needs replacement.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Your description could indicate two possibilities:

  • heat related problem; and/ or
  • protective mode. The unit senses a problem and to prevent escalation automatically shut down the unit.
Often, there would be additional indicators such as blinking lights on the front panel. These blinks would, at times, have a sequence which could point to probable fault, where to start diagnosis. Additionally, knowing the brand and model (chassis number) could narrow down probable causes based on known issues and incidents.

Just a start, do postback brand & model, how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

For first u just unplug the tv for nearly 24 hours and then replug it that will reset all the settings.and the another cause could be due to the ovel voltage passed through the main board that needs to be checked and main proper.the capacitors should be checked on the main board and the faulty 1 should be replaced.

I'd definitely give a call to 800-SAMSUNG to see if one of the techs can determine the problem. I don't have enough information to troubleshoot that particular symptom.

    Thanks

Tv is powering off and on randomly. Will stay on for 15-20 min initially, then will turn off and back on every 10-20 seconds.

There is a high possibility that the components over a period of heating and cooling, tend to bring on a problem of dry soldering. So my advice is to check the set for some loose joints that have played on to give you these erratic shut downs or poor performance. The best way to check for loose connections is to tap lightly when the set is powered on , If there is change while tapping then it seems that there are DRY solder joints. Remove main plug, the covers - with caution of high voltage, check for dry joints, use a good soldering iron to solder all suspected points.Sometimes the fault occurs when the set warms up, if so you can simulate the heat using a hair dryer on the suspected areas, try with the power supply, distribution, Processor controller, driver controllers on the A/V related sections. Also the use a FREEZE-IT spray can simulate the components to cool and show up the fault.

TV won't stay on

I would suspect either some capacitors failing in the power supply, a bad solder connection, or a component drawing too much current. Replacing the power supply may fix it.

well usually what works for me is a small heater on near the tv or just keeping the room above 65 degrees. There is a way on some tv's to turn off the power saver and that will keep your tv warm. But on others you cant turn it off so you have to deal with the heater or keeping the room warm cause that tv wont turn on for anything exept if its warm....

What is the best way to winterize a standard large capacity washing machine?

If the product will be exposed to sub-freezing temperatures, turn off the water supply to washer, disconnect fill hoses, drain them and reconnect. Remove the drain hose from the standpipe in the wall and place it into a shallow pan at floor level untill the water floe stops. Unplug unit and you are good to go.

If no sub-freezing temps are expected, turn off water supply. Turn on washer for a warm wash cycle for a few seconds to relieve the pressure in the hoses. Turn off machine and unplug it.

Hd channels are freezing up sound stays on just

Hey there, raeraekub! In order to assist you with this, I need to get a full understanding of the situation, so I'm going to ask you a few questions. First of all, is this issue still happening? If it is, try unplugging the receiver's power cord from the wall for 15 seconds then plugging it back in. If the problem continues, let me know what type of connection you have from the receiver to the TV. What type of TV do you have? With the DVR issue, is the freezing happening in the middle of watching a recording?
