Question about Refrigerators
Thanks for the diagram help. Before I got your help, I had checked for voltage on the water solenoid and didn't have any when the water keypad was pressed. Do you have any idea what output voltage I should have coming out of the dispenser board when the water keypad is pressed? "Which of the five pins coming from the dispenser board will this voltage be on, and will it be a fixed DC voltage or a pulsed voltage? I'm trying to determine if the trouble is in the dispenser board or the main circuit board. Been LG tv repairman for years, thought I may could get my daughter's frig going for her while visiting.
Thanks for any help
Sorry about that MNTECH. I had no idea you guys were so sensitive about ratings. I thought you were just trying to be helpful and answer questions or give solutions. I thought I was answering truthfully. 1st telling me where to find the wiring diagram was very helpful, but it didn't fix the problem. 2nd telling me the output of the dispenser panel was very helpful also, but it didn't solve the problem. By studing the main board, I found I had no B+ voltage to the water relay. An F-type pigtail fuse was blown. I have no idea what blew it, I replaced it and it hasn't blown again. I'm sure GE would frown on me replacing it instead of replacing the whole board, but hey, It fixed the problem. I guess the greatest help was find the wiring diagram, so I'LL GIVE YOU A FIXYA ON THAT. So, thanks again and I'm sorry I caused all the trouble and heartache. Send me a survey and I'll fill it out correctly.

I don't have real specific info, but it looks like pins 2 (red) to pin 3 (black, common) should be 13 VDC (constant, not pulsed DC as in LG models) pin 1 (tan) is a transmit / receive and pins 4 (violet) and 5 (white) are dispenser board output to main board input. They don't really tell me which does what. Looks like there is a water relay (K6) on the main board. You did make sure the dispenser is not in the locked setting, right? (locked would give no dispenser functions, including ice dispense)
