Hp Pavilion computer won't start. I got it started this morning after swithing the plug from one outlet to another, but when I left the house for a few hours and returned, the computer was off, and I haven't been able to start it. I had actually left the house to get an external drive to store my important imformation.

Most probebly this problem is for your power supply. Please try to change your PC's SMPS. It will help you.

I turned my PC off and it never came back on, screen is black, any ideas?

Check all connections. Unplug them and plug them back in to make sure they are making connection. Some screens will have two cords plus plug it into electric outlet.

If your computer is running look for a switch on the monitor to turn it on.

When I turn on computer, fans start but no light on hd monitor

Are you referring to the Hard Disk or the Monitor/Screen Display? If it's the Screen, there is a separate button to turn it on and it needs to be plugged in to the computer and a Wall outlet (unless it's an All-in-One computer model).

I left it on last night. This morning it was off

check your power cord to insure that you are getting power. make sure power cord is plug in the back.
look in back of computer. you will see a little orange switch. it says 115/220 click to 220. boot computer.
if computer boots up turn off and click back over to 115.
if it does not boot your power supply in your computer needs replacement.

Pc won't power ( turn on)

The green light is most likely your lan card/port. If the cord/outlet are sparking when you plug it in, I would say try plugging something else into that socket, if you get the same spark, I'd call an electrician. Also try plugging the pc into a different outlet. As far as the computer, if its not the outlet then it is the power supply, your motherboard may be fried in the process but if this isn't an issue with that outlet, then you should take it in to a shop.

Make sure there is no dust covering the computer fan. If necessary use the recovery CD or a new Windows XP CD.

No power

Most times when this occurrs, there is a problem with the power supply inside the unit. It is possible that the motherboard is not telling the power supply to turn on. Any time the computer is plugged in, the power supply provides 5V as a standby voltage. Pressing the power button sends a signal for the remainder of the power supply to start up. If the 5V supply is not present, no action will occur. Try replacing the power supply.
