Question about Whirlpool Dryers

1 Answer

I have an Estate / whirlpool drier model # TEDS680EQ0 that when we turn it on it will run for maybe 10 minutes and then stop. After about 10 minutes it will allow you to restart it after it cools down. I took the back off the drier and cleaned out the fan unit and made sure that it had good air flow. I have also checked to make sure the exhaust hose is free and in not clogged. I am pretty sure it is the temp sensor turning off the unit but I am not sure why since it has good flow and everything seems to be functioning normally. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If wet link dries onto sensors over a period of time then the lint will trip sensors prematurely. Clean surface of all sensors. Check sensors in heater housing and in fan housing.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II: No heat

didc, on a gas dryer, if the thermal fuse blows it will still rotate, but will not heat. Since this is a gas dryer, see if the ignitor is glowing. If it is, then you know the thermal fuse is good. If not, the thermal fuse may be blown or the ignitor itself and thus the reason for no heat. Catriver.7152136.jpg

SOURCE: Estate Dishwasher drains poorly

Here are the reasons why a dishwasher won't drain. Perhaps you will be able to read through my lesson here and determine what needs to be done. get back if I can help you further.

If the water doesn't drain from your dishwasher, check these:

Drain line/air gap
Drain valve and/or solenoid
Drain line/air gap A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

Pump Your dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support.

Look for an impeller--a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spins around. This is the wash impeller, which forces the water through the spray arm. Beneath the wash impeller is the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash impeller. The drain impeller pushes the water toward the drain port. These components make up the pump. If any of the pump components are defective, you need to replace them.

Drain valve and/or solenoid Many dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With these systems, the motor always rotates in one direction. When it's energized, the drain valve diverts the water.

Other dishwashers simply reverse the direction of the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't have a drain valve. Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to the pump housing.

Belt One brand of dishwasher uses a belt to drive the pump. If this belt is broken or has fallen off, replace it.

Motor If the motor isn't turning or working, the unit won't drain. First check to be sure you have power to the dishwasher. If not, see the section "It doesn't work at all." If the motor hums but doesn't turn, it may need to be replaced.

Some dishwashers are susceptible to getting stuck if you don't run them regularly. If you haven't run the dishwasher for more than a week, you may need to manually spin the motor to free it up. If the motor is defective, you need to replace it. Dishwasher motors can't be serviced.

Timer Part of what the timer does is control the motor and drain valve. If the timer doesn't work properly, the water may not drain and you need to replace the timer. This problem is uncommon.

My Estate washer ETW4400WQ1 will fill with water then run for about 2 minutes then stops. I can let it sit for about 20 minutes and go back to it and then turn it on and it will run for about 2 minute

this sounds as if the drive motor for the drum to rotate has some sort of obstruction to it's turning freely , unplug unit then remove the lower back panel , locate drive motor ther on bottom (round thing) see how difficult it is to rotate the drive belt one complete drum rotation with your hand , if drum does not turn freely then i suggest looking further for a missing drum roller or maybe a forign object getting caught down in drum lip seal

I want to know that on my washing machine lg-80BKF21P model the time(min) 10 minutes was remaining and the washing process is done,it ends but after drying all is done but 10 minutes were remaining and...

tumble driers and combination washer driers have a 10 minute safety margin, where the heat fior drying is dispersed, to avoid people grabbing very hot clothing.. especially if it is not quite dry as this would make them, hotter to the touch.
Tumble driers usually continue to tumble, but blow cool air through the clothes to get rid of the heat, before stopping.

have you checked the run relay in a whirlpool or kenmore there is a relay located either behind the back panel in some or on the blower houseing in others if the relay is not working then the drier wont run here is a video if you have a whirlpool or kenmore estate there are alot of brands that use this run relay idea if your unit is not one of these or you do not have this run relay please message me back with the make and model number so I may properly diagnose your issue at hand. Also if you have any further questions message me back as well and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future Thanks again Rick

Whirlpool Estate gas clothes dryer runs but the heat only lasts for about 10 minutes. the drum will be turning the heat will be on but only for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes the drum will still be...

The gas coils have failed. These are the two round devices on the gas valve. You would need to open the dryer to access and replace the gas valves. Every make and model is different.

With the model number I would be able to better assist you.

I have a model TEDS680EQ0 Estate (Whirlpool) electric dryer. The drum has stopped do I open the dryer to check the belt.

I have a TEDS680EQZ, it may be the same.
(1) You need to remove the lint screen,
(2) remove the two screws and place then somewhere they won't fall and get lost.
(3 & 4) Slide a metal spatula into the right and left front corners of the lid and push in gently while lifting the cover carefully.
(5) After you have the lid open have someone hold it it up or prop it open. Using a 5/16 nut driver remove the two screws (one on each side) and insert the pointy tip of the spatula or a small screwdriver into the wire harness to separate the two ends.
(6) Remove the door while holding the drum with your hand inside the drum. Slide the Front panel upwards and away to remove it. DO NOT let go of the drum this will be a pain if you drop it.
(7) have some one take over holding the door and look below the drum near the rear.
(8) the belt probably slipped off and is now wedged between the big roller at the top of the assembly. These are slightly springy so you can manipulate it to get the belt back to where it is suppose to be.
(9) Put everything back in the reverse order and you are back in business.
