Question about Sewing Machines
Mine doesn't look like any of the models on your site. It was my mothers from the early 1960s. I've checked everywhere for a model number but couldn't find one. This model is sort of pink and Ivory. This is what I did find... bottom of machine, 32-0055208; Italy 87103, U.S. Patter 2.685.266/D172.819; V. 115-VA 130 - Hz 50 - 60 - A.C. ONLY.
Also, need to know where to oil. This machine is old it probably has never been cleaned or greased, yikes!
I appreciate any information you can provide.
You can search sewing machine manuals here online and find your Supernova Manual for 10-15 dollars. http://www.sewingmanuals.com/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/Necchi.htm
As far as using WD-40 please don't use that. It is not for oiling. The WD stands for Water Displacement. It was designed for automotive electrical, etc. It is also a good penetrant for loosening nuts and bolts or stuck parts.
You need to use regular real sewing machine oil (white oil) that can be found most any store or another great product is called Tri-Flow from hardware stores that has Teflon in it. WD-40 is not oil.
