Check the cord at the wall and the back of the monitor. If you can use a known-good cord, and still nothing, then your best bet is replacing the monitor completely.
You can purchase a new power cord from a computer shop of your choice they should all have one as it is a fundamental part in a computer system. Phone around to be sure though.
If it has the standard VGA cable just go to your local electronics store and purchase a new VGA cable and all should be fine. I would take the old cable with you that way you are replacing the cable with the exact same type of cable.
Since you have your reciept you should be able to get a refund repair or replacement from Best Buy.
If it's past the warrenty date then you could ring a repair shop and get a quote on the cost to fix but would probobly cost more than the monitor is worth
It sounds like there's a problem with the monitor itself. It may be that the lamp in the computer is dying, which would explain why it keeps going out. Other possibility is that the monitor isn't receiving power properly either through the cable or inside the monitor itself.
If your're not the kind of person who wouldn't mind opening the monitor up and hopping in there, then I recommend you take it somewhere it can be diagnosed like Best Buy.
you can purchase it either from the manufacture of the monitor
or
ebay(www.ebay.com) or best buy
its called the power cable
just tell the perdson you are purchasing it from that you need a monitor power cable.
