It will run with timing belt off only a couple of teeth

That could be your problem, as you were told, still have
to do some kind of testing or look at some data

What troubles me, is you paid for something & expected
results.

When you say serviced, I will assume you talking a dealer
possibly, not that it matters where you went, they should be
checking the entire car.

Not to pitch you more work or expense, but to inform you
of the vehicles overall condition.

That doesn't seem to ever be done

I actually stop using all my vehicles for up to a
week,sometimes twice a year & go completely
thru them. I have done that for 50 years come the
end of this month. I have problems like everyone,
but I also know what does work & the overall condition
of most of the vehicle.

There is no guessing when something happens,I go
to the things I don't know about,as I know how
everything else is performing

SOURCE: I have a 96 audi a6 and the key is now stuck in

I have 96 Audi A6 too. It's the problem of heart of ignition. It won't go back to the original position so your key will not be able to pull out. I had this problem before. I have to bring the car back to dealer to change the switch. It costs about $300. This is after about 5 years of the new car. The replacement lasts about another 5 years. My key got stuck again. I had to change it 2nd time. It is good so far.

SOURCE: audi A4 key will not come out after turning engine off

I had this as well, but you just have to wait a second. You can't remove it to quickly, the car takes a second to essentially unlatch the key.

SOURCE: 2005 Audi A4 1.8 Fuel Pump problem?

I had an Audi A4, 10 years older than yours mind you, but it would start then stop, sometimes 10 times but would eventually go. I ran a little WD40 in the key barrel and put the key in and out a couple of dozen times. Wiping it with a cloth each time, lots of dirt came off. My theory and it's only mine, is that the wear on the key left dirty metal deposits inside which stopped the chip in the key being recognised. I believe they had a security chip inside the key.
Anyway after 6 months of this nuisance it never happened again after that. Fixed my problem and a lot of frustration. Maybe help you too.

I have a 2009 audi A4 quattro, stopped for gas then went to turn on the car and it wouldnt start, the EPC light came on, now I cant get it started, what do I do ?

Seems to be a turn off and on key thing ( turn key to 2click then step on gas pedal 10 times ) or check gas cap !? Or just turn key on and off 10 times to clear it out !?

I1995 audi a6 quattro ignition switch does not return automatically to start position - i have to manually turn the key back 1/4 turn. can this be fixed, lubed or something?

Some can be repaired the first thing is to try a little wd40 in the key hole and work key in ignition, the spring back action is done by the switch not the ignition cylinder locjk, but if the lock binds up it will cause it not to return, so start with the lube, after a few days if it still doesnt return then remove covers and replace the switch on the back of key switch. hope this helps, most of the time the lube works.

When i start my car it just cuts off again this happens a few times then works fine, also after a few miles of driving the abs warning light comes on my car is an N reg audi A4 automatic 1.8

Hi, I had the same problem. it is the imoboliser, it reads a code in your key while starting. you need to get the code in the key reprogramed. if that wont work you will need to get a new ignition barrel. Audi dealer will reprogram your key.
