Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Technics SL-BD22 Turntable playing slowly like yours was

Hello.

I was reading your post from August of last year and was wondering if you ever got your turntable fixed? I am having the same problem where the motor is barely running if at all and it's not the belt because when I took the belt off of the motor, it would still run very slow and I could stop it with just a light touch of a finger. Mine is working some days and others it is doing the same thing. Did you ever get a new motor for your Technics SL-BD22 Turntable and if so, can you please tell me where you got it and how much it cost you? Thank you in advance for your help and any information you can provide me.

After 14 years my Technics SL-BD22 Turntable has a disfunction The electric motor turns slow.

Your turntable is probably belt driven so most likely motor is turning okay but belt is slipping.
They are easy to change, first just lift rubber mat on platter and you should be able to see the belt through a access hole in the platter.

The low grinding noise could be the motor spinning with "no load" i.e the belt has snapped or fallen off due to being perished.
Lift the platter to refit the belt and or replace it if required.

How do I remove the platter on a sl-bd22 Technics turntable?

You will have to lift off the cloth on the platter section to expose two rather large holes in the plattr. Insert your thumb and forefinger, and pull up.

Turning slowly, then stops

Based on the experiences, it sounds like it's something on the main board. Perhaps one or multiple resistors failing, not allowing the correct current to hit the motor.

Unfortunately, not an easy fix. I would suggest contacting a service center for assistance.

Turntable grinds to a halt.

The Technics SL-BD22 is a belt driven turntable. It is most likely possible that the belt wore off, wore down, or could have spun off. The platter should have 2 holes in it. One of them should alow you to see, and replace the belt. YOu can lift the platter off the turntable via those two holes. MAKE SURE IT IS TURNED OFF AND UNPLUGGED......

You can find a replacement @

http://1200s.com/Store/PARTS-TECHNICS-TURNTABLES-Drive_Belts/c271_272_278_398/index.html

And the part should come with instructions. Those guys are very thorough.

Keep me posted.
