Question about IBM 05K9567 14.1 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor
It could be your LCD backlight giving you problems. With the computer on and the shine a flashlight in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Look for the ?Start? button, if your backlight is not working you?ll see a faint ?start? button if you look closely. Depending on the laptop this is usually an economically repairable problem. This problem is most likely to be caused by a bent or broken pin on the CRT video cable at the VGA connector, OR, this could also be caused by a damaged VGA connector on the back of the laptop. If neither VGA connector is at fault, the problem could be caused a damaged (kinked) CRT data cable, or internal damage to the VGA connector on the back of the laptop, though I suspect the problem is more likely to be external, and you probably won't have to disassemble the laptop to locate the culprit...

SOURCE: Blank Screen
ccfl ( cold cathode flouroscent lamp ) is the backlit feature of the lcd panel. If you see a blank screen but do see the output on the external monitor then you sure have to take it to the hardware tech to get the inbuilt LCD panel checked. it seems to be a electronic failure. Thanks Ashish.

First place to chaeck will be power supply, the problem can also be caused by bad inverter circuits, bad lamps, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps, lamps, http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
