Some times the toner has a clear plastic tape that is inside the toner, the tip is on the short side of the toner cartridge. if you do not remove that plastic then it would make that whistling nosies.

How do i switch off Cleaning page print after each switch on HP lazerjet M551

To turn off the cleaning page print on your HP LaserJet M551 printer, you can try the following steps:
  1. Open the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the IP address of your printer into a web browser. The IP address can be found on the printer's control panel or by printing a network configuration page.
  2. Log in to the EWS using the default username and password (admin/admin).
  3. Click on the "Settings" tab, then select "Service" from the drop-down menu.
  4. In the "Service" section, click on "Service Pages."
  5. In the "Service Pages" section, uncheck the box next to "Print after each manual duplex".
  6. Click "Apply" to save the changes.
  7. Close the EWS and test the printer to confirm that the cleaning page is no longer printed after each switch.
Note: The steps mentioned above may vary slightly depending on the printer's firmware version. If you're unable to access the EWS or if the steps don't work, you may want to consult the printer's user manual or contact HP support for further assistance.

What does Error message 50.2F.00 mean?

The error message "50.2F.00" typically refers to a problem with the fuser assembly in an HP LaserJet 500 color M551 series printer. The fuser assembly is responsible for fusing toner to the paper, and this error can occur if the fuser is not functioning properly.
There are a few potential causes for this error message:
  • The fuser may not be properly installed in the printer, in which case you should check to make sure that it is securely seated and connected.
  • The fuser may be defective, which is most likely the case if the error message appears shortly after installing a new fuser. In this case, you may need to replace the fuser with a new one.
  • There may be a problem with the printer's power supply, which is causing the fuser to malfunction. You should check the connections and ensure that the power supply is working properly.
It is also good idea to check for any firmware updates for your printer. Sometimes these updates can fix known issues.
The best thing to do is check the printer's manual for troubleshooting or HP Support for specific instructions for your printer. Also you can try to call the manufacturer support.

HP LaserJetM551

Turn printer off and unplug any network or usb cables. Restart printer, if it comes to ready then you may only need to update the firmware on the printer to solve your problem. Go to HP.com and download the current firmware for the 551 and copy it to a USB stick. In the menus on the printer go to Printer maintenance>upgrade firmware and then insert the usb key into the usb slot on top of printer. Screen will show the file that is on the usb key, press ok and wait for process to finish.

I have HP laserjet 1018 printer and it makes noisy sound when it prints. But it prints fine though. What causes making this noise?

The noise is probably due to the print heads aligning and clicking. To try to make this noise a little quieter, clean and align the print heads.
Good luck!

Printer installation

Jim,

This can be done as a network device, AFTER it's installed as a local printer. I know, it's nuts, but we're talking MSoft.

drivers for printer are unique to a PC, so make sure you have the best ones.
