Re: fujitsu nightmare

Are you putting in the cd before you boot up and not after it has tried to boot, as it should give you the 'boot from CD' option and te you to press enter.

Hi having problems with my partners Fujitsu Siemens ScaleOP Desktop Computer. She recently reformatted the PC with a Genuine copy of Windows XP which installed perfectly without any hitches but when...

Can the drive read other disks? I'm guessing no. If no, it would appear as if the drivers for the CD rom are not loaded. If this is the case, you will need an internet connection to download the drivers for the cd rom so it will work. Other than that, you can try to install generic cd rom drivers through windows, that may work. Good luck.

I have a fujitsu e8110 series laptop (old one) and I need to get in to BIOS but I completely forgot the password. I have disconnected the CMOS battery for about 24hrs and no change, I have searched for...

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In your case I would suggest using Hiren's Boot CD as none of the others worked. There is a program called Kill CMOS which wipes the BIOS.

Sounds like you've experienced the "click of death." Hope you didn't have too much important stuff or you backed it up, 'cause you're gonna need a new hard drive.

When I Play Music through Winamp/Media Player it

That is unusual - pressing in case should not effect play - not like a tape drive would.
Are you playing from CD or Hard-drive?
If Cd - try copy music to hard-drive and see how it plays - if ok - then something may be rubbing on CD in CD-Player? But that would give read errors. Have to remove CD Player and clean it.

Fujitsu v2000

I assume you mean cd driver..
your cd is recognised as plug and play and shouldnt need any drivers installing .
on the underside of unit youll find retainer screws for cd ..remove these to slide cd drive out ...startup pc and when in windows slide drive back in and sys will detect and install it .you may have to remove other covers to gain access to retainer screws for cd drive.
dont really matter which screws you remove whilst looking as long as you dont forget where they go and to replace them

DVD rom drive

It sounds like the drive itself is faulty. Since you've reformatted, it obviously isn't a software problem. CDs and DVDs are read by two different lasers so its not uncommon for one disc not to be read yet the other is just fine which seems to be the case. A new one can be purchased for under $40.

Fujitsu nightmare

ok try setting bios back to HDD first boot, then when it can't find the operating system it should then give the option to boot from the cd again. If it still don't work then look for default settings in bios and set it then change it back again, you could be stuck in bios loop. But i'll open the window ready for you.

Fujitsu nightmare

This is because it has not written the system files yet as it has frozen on repair. assuming youv'e set the cd as the first boot device, it sounds like a complete re install is now necassary, but if you get the cd to run you will need to format the drive first then a clean re install.
