Any or some specific software? Most likely a virus or something alike. Have you tried to uninstall it from safe mode or using some 3rd party uninstallers?

Jedi knight jedi academy won't uninstall

I have this game, BUT this never happened. I would recommend going into the main file in program files. Then I would search "Uninstall". It should come up with something such as Uninstall.exe or uninstall ****.exe.
If thats what you tried to do, then try going in Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > WAIT PATIENTLY > click Jedi Knight Jedi Academy > Uninstall.
LONG READ: If you tried doing both, then just delete the entire folder from both My Documents > Games or My Games or [Company Name]*> [Company Name]* or Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Then delete that folder. Do the same thing with program files, It might look a little different.
SHORT READ: Overall just delete both folders from both My Documents and Program Files.
* - Company name could be Raven Software.

Downloaded file won't open on my pc

If the file is compressed you will need a program called winrar to open the file, if that is not the problem the file may be corrupted, uninstall and try again.

I just got a new laptop with Windows 7, which I'm still learning how to use. I have Java Run time Environment installed, and I want to open a .jar file, but it won't let me open it with Java,...

Jar files are installers for Java programs - you shouldn't actually open them, you should just install them in an Java environment like that on the phones or in another program running in there. But in the Win & there is a way to bypass that:
1 - right-click on the file and choose "Rename." Change the file extension from .jar to .zip. Click "OK."
2 - right-click on the file and choose "Unzip." Your computer will use WinRAR to open the file.
3 - click "Save" to save the file to your hard drive then click "Open"
4 - double-click on the file marked "Install" or "Set-up" to install the program files on your computer. If the file does not have one of these options, open the program that the files are intended for and it will automatically detect and install the files.

Control panel icons not clear

There is something illegal in your system. Do you have any trail software that is expired on your computer? Do you have any software or devices that are not capaitble with your computer? If what I'm saying makes sence to you, try to uninstall it if you can. Your problem is only going to get worse until you get rid of the software or device that is causing this problem. Also, check to see if you have enough memory on the computer. You may try to free up some memory. Low memory will cause this problem too. I couldn't delete my hang up software when this happened to me, and had to reinstall the OS.

I downloaded the win zip software sometime ago and now every time I try to use it, I get the message it is not a free software so i can't use it

Which version of Windows are you using? Either way uninstall it and install WinRar. It's a trail version too, but if you right-click your files and choose Extract.... It won't bother mentioning anything about being expired ;)

If you've got Windows 7 you don't need WinZip for Zip files, it can extract them without the software too!

My free trail was over so I uninstalled stopzilla, I wasn't happy with how long it took to load the internet with it. Now I can't get onto internet explorer the computer freezes

update or reinstall IE or better yet use something better like chrome or firefox. the uninstall may have deleted a necessary file.
