Certain keys not working on zboard

remove the plug from the back of the motherboard (Purple)
Check the prongs inside of the male connector for damage and/or dirt.
all of those are TX and RX protocols which talk to your machine and send the events back and fourth.
If that does not work, it is due to water inside the mainboard of the keyboard. replace.

Laptop Touchpad - cursor random dragging problem

On my acer all I have to do is press function F7, Function is the button with 'Fn' on it. I am not sure if that works for HP, but its worth a try. Also, is there a switch near the touchpad? Sometimes there is one that switches the touch pad on and off. You can also try other Fn(function) F1 or Fn F2 etc. and see if one of the other "f" buttons work.  I hope this helps, let me know how you made out. Good Luck!

Here you go:
Enter
The computer brings the cursor to the beginning of the next line. This key can also be pressed
to open a program after you have HILIGHTED* it. It will execute a command.
Shift ▲ Hold the shift key down and press the letter key you want to make a CAPITAL letter.
This key is also used to type the charters at the
top of some keys. Eg: Shift + 1 = ! or Shift + 2 = @
Caps Lock
Makes all letters CAPITAL letters. When the Caps Lock key is pushed, a light will
show up on the upper right corner of your keyboard
next to the capital “A”. When caps lock is turned on it remains on until you press the Caps Lock key
again. When you press the Shift key when
Caps Lock is on, a lower case letter will be produced.
Space This key places one space every time it is pressed. (The long, unlabeled key at the
bottom center of your keyboard).
←Backspace Deletes the character to the left of the cursor each time you press it. (If you hold it
down it will continue to delete so be careful).
Delete Deletes the character to the right of the cursor each time you press it.
Home Brings you to the beginning of the line the cursor is on.
End Brings you to the end of the line the cursor is on.
Esc Located in the upper right corner of your keyboard. Cancels an incomplete command;
it will also close an open menu.

character.
Moves the cursor up one line each time it is pushed; does not delete the character.
Moves the cursor to the right one space each time it is pushed; does not delete the
character.
Moves the cursor down one line each time it is pushed; does not delete the character.
Insert Deletes the character to the right of the cursor and replaces it with whatever is typed on
the keyboard.
↔Tab Moves the cursor to the tab marks and between columns.
Shift + print screen Prints what is on your computer screen.
Highlight (to select) To make the item stand out. To choose or select it.
? *When an icon is highlighted (left click the mouse button one time while the cursor is pointing at
the icon), the program has been chosen and the name of the icon will change color. When this has
happened, you may press the Enter key to open the program.
? *To highlight a character or characters, move the cursor, using your mouse or the arrow keys, to
the left of the item you wish to select. Press the left mouse button and hold it down while you
move the mouse to the right. Let go of the left mouse button and your item(s) should be
highlighted. Then you can choose what you want to do to the selected item(s) e.g. bold, underline,
delete, italicize, etc.
“Drag and drop” Move the cursor to the item, click the left mouse button and hold it down.
Move the mouse, while holding down the left
mouse button, to the location you want to move the item. Let go of the left
mouse button.

Let me know if this helped

I have an acer netbook and occasionally i get a weird symbol when i move my cursor. it's almost like a bullseye. it pauses my cursor until it goes away and then in can continue. what is this?

This is a custom cursor that has been setup by either:

A program on your computer
A custom cursor program like free cursors or something.

Check you computer for programs like "smiley cursors" or check the windows control panel and open Mouse settings to see if you have any custom pointers.

It is possible that.. instead of an hourglass.. somebody, or a program has set a custom pointer for your mouse.

The pointer changes to an hourglass in any windows setup by default when it wants you to wait for something that is happening in the background to finish processing.

Check for spyware and viruses as well.. customer cursor websites are great at getting people to install them and you get infected sometimes.

Go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look down the list for mice and pointing devices, click the '+' sign and right click on your touchpad and select uninstall, do the same on the keyboard line and then restart the pc.

Does your laptop have touchpad that acts as a mouse if you don't have a mouse plugged in (it's usually directly below the spacebar)? If any part of your hand accidentally brushes that sensitive rectangular area, it will cause the mouse cursor to jump around.

There is usually a button you can push at the top of the rectangular touchpad to turn it off while you're typing. On my HP laptop it has a blue light, and when I push the button it turns red.
