Here is a solution, but be aware that your data may or not be lost. Follow the prompts carefully.
At the Acer splash screen, you can press Alt and F10 (at the same time you would press F2 to enter the BIOS) to bring up a DOS style version of eRecovery.
· The unit is able to reload Windows from this mode faster then from CD.
· The password by default is 000000 (6 zeros) and it is displayed when you are asked for the password.
· Users are able to change the password in this mode for eRecovery only.
· The system can recover from the hidden image on the hard drive (PQService partition) or from CD/DVD media.
· It is possible to reload from the factory style CDs/DVD or the snapshots that the Windows version of eRecovery creates.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

If this just happened recently try going to the start button on the bottom left click look for the search box click on the files or folders option then enter system restore and click on the search now or start search button.

after you get the results of the search click on the most recent date but before you notice the problem and hit the system restore to this point and choose that .After that the pc will shut down on its own it may take a while to do so but that is normal.
Once it restarts it will give you a message to notify you if it worked or not if it didnt work retry evrything again but change the restore point date to an earlier date

Hope this fixes your issue.

My acer one has no cd rom and has an error report windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt <window root>\system32\hal.dll please re-install copy of the above file

You need to repair your windows, with either using Recovery or get the external CD then reinstall operating system. Hal.dll usually still in your system32 folder but corrupted..

Recovery cd for acer aspire 3000

The "NTLDR is missing" error can sometimes occur when the boot.ini file is corrupt or missing but in your case it sounds like the HardDrive is the problem.

Try the Following:
Start>Run>Type "Cmd" and enter>Type "dir c:" and enter>Type "chkdsk" and enter. Your computer might promote you to chkdsk later Press "Y" and restart you computer

The Acer Aspire series usually have a eRecovery manager than ables you to burn 2 recovery disk which you should have done when you first got the laptop. Since you haven't done that you'll have to buy new recovery CD/DVD
From:

OR you can try the following.

Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Choose a restore point that goes back to before your NTLDR problem started.

Please Rate, Thanks.
