Denon S-301 video problems

While viewing a DVD my screen goes blank, but I still here audio. I can play back the scene over again with no problems. I'm using the HDMI interface to my plasma TV. The DVD player has been replace for this problem and the new unit has the same problem. I'm using the default factory setting, AUTO 1, for Progressive Mode. This problem has occured with brand new and used DVDs. The unit is in a open space with plenty of ventilation. Any ideas if this is a problem with the unit or a setting problem. Jim

Re: Denon S-301 video problems

Theis is a known problem by Denon, you need to get a "patch" by denon to fix the problem. If you hook up to the other video out sources there is no problem (but no HD either)

For some reason, I get audio for the visually impaired when i play a DVD. The original sound of the DVD plays but an additional narrative (describing each scene) plays as well. The DVD is a recent...

Generally, remote controls for DVD systems have a button labeled "Audio". This button changes which audio track you will hear during the movie. Common tracks include English, French, Spanish, Commentaries, and occasionally Audio for the Hearing Impaired.

It seems odd for the latter audio track to be default, but clicking the Audio button until you have the plain English track should work. I would consult the manual if you have it on hand to see if your system is capable of remembering which track to start on.

Hope this helps.

Go to the "Bose" menu screen viewing on your TV (make sure no dvd is in the player) Go to your Video controls and check your output, chances are, if your using the component output your player is set to "S-Video". Should fix the problem. Hope this helps. If it's still not viewing correctly, post a comment and I will help you some more

audio/video OUT from the cable box to the aux IN on the panasonic right? So you can see the output from the cable box but only sound from dvd. Are you changing the input on the tv when you go from watching the cable box to watching the DVD? the panasonic handles audio, but the video from each goes to two different inputs on the sony. I hope none of this sounds condescending.
