These are great for some purposes, but if you need really
high capacity, or require greater security, then you might want to look for a
different type of service that you will need to pay for.
Read the privacy policy carefully of any email service you
are considering.
Make sure you are not making any commitments you are
uncomfortable with.
Test your new address.
Once you set up you new address, have a few close friend
email you regularly for a few days to make sure it is really what you want before
informing all you contacts.
Send out a single mass-mailing to all your contacts, once
you have established your new address, and tested it.
Be careful to weed out all the spammers before you do this.
Keep your old email address active for a while after
establishing your new address.
How long you need to do this depends upon how much email
traffic you have.
The more traffic, and the more contacts you have, the longer
you should keep your address active.
Generally speaking, your should plan to wait at
least one month before abandoning you old address. In some cases, you may want
to keep checking it for several months.

Hotmail
Hotmail is a free online email service provided
by MSN.
Hotmail users can create contact lists in their
email accounts, which allows them quick access to the contact information of
their friends, families and co-workers.
The contact lists can be easily changed, contacts can be
added or deleted, information can be updated and certain contacts can be
designated as favorites.
Contact favorites are listed on the inbox menu for easy
accessibility when composing emails or instant messaging.
Log into your Hotmail account using your Windows Live ID.
This will open your Hotmail inbox.
Click on "Contacts List" in the left-hand menu.
Click "New" to add a contact to your list.
Type in the contact's name, nickname, address, business
information and phone number.
You can also add other information, such as a person's
birthday and personal notes.
Click "Save."
Your contact list will be immediately updated with the new
contact's information.
Delete a contact by checking the box next to his name.
Click "Delete." Click "OK" to confirm
that you wish to delete this contact.
How to Change Hotmail Contact Information
Log into your Hotmail account using your Windows Live ID.
This will open your Hotmail inbox.
Click on "Contacts List" in the left-hand menu.
Check the box next to the contact whose information you wish
to change.
Click "Edit." Modify the contact information.
Click "Save" to update the contact's listing.
How to Create or Delete Hotmail Contact Favorites
Log into your Hotmail account using your Windows Live ID.
This will open your Hotmail inbox.
Click on "Contacts List" in the left-hand menu.
Check the box next to the contact that you would like to
make a favorite.
Click "Categories" from the top toolbar.
Pick "Favorites" from the drop-down menu.
The contact has now been added to the Hotmail favorites
list.
Delete a contact from the favorites list by clicking on
"Favorites" in the left-hand menu.
Click the highlighted star in the contact's information box.
The contact is removed from the favorites list.
Transfer Hotmail Contacts
Hotmail is one of the oldest free email services that is
still in use today.
However, as other email services have been created, more and
more people are choosing to leave Hotmail for greener pastures.
Luckily, instead of having to manually transfer your entire
contact list to your new service, create a file that automatically transfers
the contacts for you.
Sign into your Hotmail account and go to your inbox.
Click on the link for "Options," which is located on the upper
right-hand of your inbox.
Scroll down and click on the link for "More
options..." On the new screen, scroll down toward the bottom and click the
link to "Export Contacts."
Enter an eight-digit passcode when prompted to save your
contacts onto your computer as a .csv file.
After entering the passcode, choose to save the new file on
your computer.
Upload the .csv file onto whatever email service you want
to use.
Each email service has a different method for importing the
contacts, but they all allow the file that is in a .csv format to be uploaded.
