Sound issue on LG 42LG50

I have an issue with the sound on this tv. I have HD satellite from Dishnetwork;HD receiver. I notice when I use only the TV sound, all the HD channels have very low volume, you have to turn the volume control up almost all the way to hear it. The other channels are fine. When I run the sound from the HD receiver, or the tv into my Home Theatre system, the sound and audio are out of sync. Very annoying. Any ideas??

P.S

I contacted LG customer service and they are sending me some sort of Firmware update??

I have this similar issue as I have just posted. I get very low sound when my Sony surround sound system is hooked up. It worked fine for a couple weeks than just cut out.

I have 47in, bougth last week and have the same issue.

Have everything turned up, Tre/bass both at 80ish.

I sit and watch comfortable at a volume of 75?? At 30/40 the volume might as well be muted.

Doesn't seem right, I know the volume output on the flat screenc are not the best, but shouldn't be this low.

Make sure the dish network menu settings in setup under audio are on high. Some tv's require it to be off. Try both and see what works. Also the delay is caused by digital conversion. new stereos have settings for this delay and they have delay boxes for sale online. You could try to change your delay settings on your stereo surround to help. I had to do this.

Why does my LG tv seems like it need to warm up before it will accept HDMI signal?

Sounds like a capacitor fault. They can be intermittent when cold, but will work okay when warm. Eventually though they will fail.

This is your advance notice to get the set either repaired by the manufacturer or a local TV shop.

Do you have an HD ready cable/satellite box? It sounds like your tv is displaying your games in a resolution lower than what it can handle.

When we hooked up the dish network HD it asked for a rated image please enter password to view

This sounds like the issue is with your TV set not with the DISH receiver. If this is a TV issue you'll want to call the manufacturer. If this is an issue with the DISH receiver e-mail me at daniel.busa@dishnetwork.com and we can get this resolved!

OK. For all you regular Joe's like me here's the fix--plain and simple! I have Dish Networks HD receiver, an LG Home Theater System (LHB953) and an LG HD Television - although I suspect this applies for most LG TV-to-LG Audio Systems used in combination with a HD TV). My problem lied within the LG to LG setting known as SIMPLINK which tries to "auto-configure" everything between LG to LG devices.

Do this to make your HD TV (using Dish/DirecTV) play it's HD video display from the satellite provider but play the audio over the LG surround sound speakers:

1. Plug a HDMI cable from your satelite receiver's set-top-box to your HD TV. This will carry your HD "video" ONLY. Click "Input" on the TV remote until the HD video signal shows your desired TV channel from your satellite provider.

2. Plug an HD Optical cable (the one with the red laser) from your LG HTS (Home Theater System) to your satellite box. This will carry your HD "audio" ONLY.

3. This is the magic everyone seems to be overlooking. On the LG TV remote, go into the menu options and disable SIMPLINK by setting SIMPLINK=OFF. This feature allows the video and audio signals to be split over 2 different ports: HD video goes over the HDMI cable and the audio to go over the HD Optical cable.

Hope this helps!

I have an almost exact set-up and you will only get sound out of your rear speakers when the TV channel is broadcasting in 5.1 Ch Stereo. Otherwise the sound is limited to your front, center, and woofer speakers.

Receiving HD from Dishnetwork

Hi. You will love the dish. I have enjoyed it in my home for a number of years. I like the HDMI cable because it is the best quality and simple to install, one cable does it all. If you don't have one yet get it at walmart where it is about half the cost of other retailers. All satellite TV is HD without you doing anything special. So yes, it will do HD from whatever input you choose.
