To avoid losing the file forever, do NOT save any more files on your computer until you can get software from Norton (or another company that makes Undelete software. This software finds and restores files that have been deleted. (Have you checked your Recycle bin to see if your computer just happened to put the deleted file there? If so, you're home free--the file can be easily restored.)

On the other hand, if it's been truly deleted. you have a chance of restoring it with Undelete software. Here's what happens: When a file is deleted, it doesn't really go away. Files are put in boxes called "clusters" and when the file is deleted, the computer puts a mark (such as a "$" sign telling the computer that that cluster or group of clusters can be used for future use. That's why it's so important that you don't ask your computer to file a new file so you avoid the computer possibly overwriting the new file over your old one. If the new file is short and there are several "open" clusters before your photo file, the new file will likely go into one of the sorter, earlier clusters first.

Best luck!

Memory card suddenly says needs formatting but "the formatting" now will erase everything if formatted

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

I accidently delete some photos from kodak easyshare c813 camera's memory card... Can I retrieve those?

First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download asoftech photo recovery software
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/
Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

Hi, l have a kodak printer easy share 5500. I can't find the cd software to install the software onto my computer. Are you able to tell me how l can get another cd.thanks mary

Mary, you can download the software from http://download.Kodak.com/digital/software/easyShare/v8_3_0/install_easyshare.exe

Press the SAVE button, find a place on your hard drive and save the file. Double click the install_easyshare.exe file and it will install the file. Follow the instructions below.

The file is good for KODAK EASYSHARE Software - WINDOWS Operating Systems
Installation Instructions
  1. Verify that your computer meets the system requirements. note.gif NOTE: APPLE QUICKTIME Player is required for some software features. Visit APPLE to download the latest version of the QUICKTIME Player.
  2. Disconnect all accessory devices from your computer (digital camera, camera dock, printer dock, photo printer, card reader, etc.).
  3. Verify that you logged on to the computer using the administrator account.
  4. Close all programs.
  5. Download the software, then follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
  6. To launch the software select Start > Programs > Kodak > Kodak EasyShare > Kodak Easyshare software.
important.gif IMPORTANT: If you have a large picture collection, allow a few minutes after your computer restarts before starting EASYSHARE Software. EASYSHARE Software windows appear after your previous picture catalog has been updated

After the installation are completed, reboot if not asked to do so. You can copy the install_easyshare.exe file to a CD for later installation if needed.

Good luck and post back to let me know how it went.

My camera kodak easyshare C1013 cannot show pictures. it says "unrecognised file format"..i need help

The camera stores the pictures in a JPEG format only. You can use .jpg files in most image editing programs. Videos are stored in a .mov format that you can view with QUICKTIME software or KODAK Picture Software.

* What you can do is transfer the pictures to your computer and check the file format
* You can delete photo then just take a photo again.

Unrecognized file format means the file format of the picture in the camera is not JPEG or the memory card is faulty

Uploading video to computer from Kodak MX1063

Check the format of your video file, it may be hidden if it has different file extension for which your computer does not have the application to view.

Regarding your files got deleted, you might selected the option to move the files from your camera to your computer instead of copy the files.

Hope this helps.

Buy an USB memory card reader and plug it into your computer. Make sure it supports SD cards. Any cheap one should do and cost less than $10. Remove the SD memory card from the camera (small door on the right hand end, push card in to unlock it and it will pop up/out) and insert it into the memory card reader. This should give you access to the pictures on the card as a removable disk drive. Try viewing the drive as thumbnails to see if your pictures are there. If so, COPY THEM TO YOUR COMPUTER NOW. Your camera is a foolish place to leave 5 years worth of shots.
If the card has been corrupted you may want to use some software to get what you can from it. Nothing should have been deleted from the card even when the camera messed up.
What software you ask? Try one of these:

Good luck and best wishes,
dave.

Click on "Disk Utility". 5. "Kodak" drive should be in the list showing a white drive icon 6. Click that icon and select “Erase”. 7. Select the “MS-DOS file system (FAT16)” option and give it a volume name e.g. "Kodak". The format will begin when you click the “Erase” button below. 8. Try to copy the files to the re-formatted internal memory of the frame. 1. Click on the "Macintosh HD" icon. 2. Click on "Applications". 3. Click on "Utilities". 4. Forget about using any software. Once you connected your frame onto your Macintosh, it will appear as a white drive icon on the desktop. You can copy pictures “drag and drop” from iPhoto to the frame. Just make sure that the pictures you will be copying are in JPEG or EXIF format.

Copy picture to CD after downloading to computer

well as long as your RW's have been erased then I couldn't tell you. But i can point you in the right direction of some better software to use. 1. ACDSee - http://store.acdsee.com/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayPage&Locale=en_US&SiteID=acd&id=ProductDetailsPage&productID=69658800 - download a trial and check it out. 2. Nero Photoshow Deluxe - http://www.usnero.photoshow.com/home - my personal pick because Nero is the leader in CD burning technology. Of course your cd burner might be the cause as well. try burning something other than photos to test it. A good reboot after multimedia multitasking is always good as well. hope this helps you. let me know.
