SOURCE: Samsung P800 Digi Camera - Frozen

I would keep my finger on the turn-off button for at least 20 seconds to see if this switches it off. Failing that I would take out the batteries to switch off and then re-insert the batteries & see if it works this time. I am not an expert but have found the first point works on laptops. Good luck.

My olympus sp-590uz will turn on but is then frozen.

I have had a similar problem. My solution was to check the zoom button. It seems that when it is "out of range" you can do nothing with the camera. Try to adjust the zoom a Little bit and you will probably be "in range" and the camera with work.

My camera (s1075) is not taking any pictures or lettin me view my pictures due to the lens being frozen. it is stuck between open and close state and so will not open when i switch the camera on nor will...

Sorry, it doesn't sound like a quick fix is going to work here. The lens sounds like it took a pretty good hit and may be misaligned now, which is keeping it from fully retracting. Your best bet is a service center at this point.
