Convert the files using Riva FLV Encoder to AVI format, then run them through the Sansa converter.

Follow the link at the bottom of post "River Past Crazi Video," which is a conversion program capable of converting AVI files to the Sansa format. Download the program and then proceed through the installation steps.
  • Step 2231318_thumb.jpg Add a Sansa file Click on the icon of a green plus sign marked as "Add Files" at the top-left side of the window. Navigate through the list of folders on your computer and find the AVI file that you want to convert into the Sansa format.
  • Step 3231330_thumb.jpg Choosing the Sansa "Output Format" Click on the name of the specific AVI file and then click on "Open." Scroll down toward the bottom of the program's window and click on the "Output Format" button. Select the "Sandisk Sansa" option from the drop-down menu that will appear.
  • Step 4231341_thumb.jpg Choosing the "Output Directory" Locate the "Output Directory" button just underneath the "Output Format" option. Click on the button and then click on the "Browse" button. Find the folder where you want your converted Sansa file to be saved. Click on the folder and then click on the "Open" button.
  • Step 5 Click on the "Overwrite Existing File" button if you want the original AVI file to be completely replaced by the new Sansa file. Click on the "Convert" button located at the upper-right corner of the window to convert the AVI file into the Sansa file format.

Yes. The program is available for download from the Sandisk website.

Type your model number into the search box in the upper right hand side. (example: E250)

Click on the photo of the model you purchased.

Scroll down and you will see on the right side- "Support, Docs and more"-

    Click on that-

Then click on the "Sansa Media Converter"-

It will then take you to a registration page. You can skip this by clicking the "Skip registration".

Now you will be at the download page.

If you have any trouble getting to this, please contact Sansa at their toll free phone number: 1866SANDISK.

    Igot converting problem, please help!

Well, I use a program called SUPER. You can get it at It doesn't automatically add the file to you player, but it converts just about anything. You could also try the Total Video Converter shareware, which you can download at It too converts most things, but I find that it is a lot easier to use. It doesn't automatically add the files either, but you can do that by going to my computer and clicking on the player icon, going in until you find the music folder, and copying and pasting the file in there.

Plug the cables into your computer and the Sansa. Make sure your computer has the Sansa Media Converter installed (supplied with your Sansa). Start Sansa Media Converter. Click on "Add Files" and select the files to be added. Then click on "Convert". Wait for the program to finish, and close Sansa Media Converter. Unplug your Sansa. Enjoy videos. :D
