E68: Voltage Error... This error means that the Xbox 360 has insufficent power to function properly. This can be caused by an error in the hard drive or the fans that make them **** up too much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories attached to the console like an external fan unit. Attempt to remove unnecessary accessories first, and then necessary components such as the hard drive and USB devices. If you have any case mods you may want to investigate those as well

I was watching net flicks and my xbox rebooted and flashed a red ring (bottom right) and it said E68. i shut it off and started it up again and works<did that twice<the unit was alittle hot...

The e68 error on your Xbox 360 is caused by a hard drive/HDD problem. It can be caused by an internal connection error with the hard drive, a general failure of the hard drive, or overheating of the hard drive. Basically, there is quite a large range of things that can cause the Xbox 360 e68 problem, which can make troubleshooting the issue slightly difficult.

To fix the e68 code on your Xbox 360 is to remove the internal hard drive and try playing your console without it. If it then works, then you can be sure that you can permanently fix the problem. If not, then you will have more serious issues on your console that will need to be checked over by Microsoft, as the e68 is generally believed to be related only to your console's hard drive/HDD.

Hope this helps.

Hello! no need to worry! the E68 error code is one of the more simple things to fix. most of the time it's just simply a hardware fluke. Attached you will find detailed instructions on how to successfully restore your hard drive and eliminate the e68 error code. If unfortunately, you must purchase a new hard drive, you can find reasonably priced drives at your local electronics or computer store.
If the steps listed in the link fail, the contact information for Microsoft is included as well. Good Luck!!

Hi here is the error code details>
E68: Hard Drive Error - Hard drive not DMA configured: It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it. Also this can be caused by a problem with the fans that make them draw too much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories attached to the console like an external fan unit. Attempt to remove unnecessary accessories first, and then necessary components such as the hard drive and USB devices. If you have any case mods you may want to investigate those as well.

E 68 error code.

The e68 error on your Xbox 360 is caused by a hard drive/HDD problem, much like all of the problems in the "e6x" family of error codes on the Xbox 360 platform. It can be caused by an internal connection error with the hard drive, a general failure of the hard drive, or overheating of the hard drive. Basically, there is quite a large range of things that can cause the Xbox 360 e68 problem, which can make troubleshooting the issue slightly difficult.

On my xbox360 i got the e68 error message and i took the hard drive out, and then put it back once the xbox was on and i went to memory on the system settings and for my main profile it said corrupted...

can you still access anything else that was saved on your hard drive?
such as demos or anything else you downloaded, etc? generally that means your hard drive has over heated, or worse, crashed. but! you got lucky that your whole xbox didn't crash with it. there is a chance you can save your hard drive and all your files. there is a how to here: http://ezinearticles.com/?Xbox-360-E68-Error-Fix&id=2549596

E68 error on xbox 360 HELP PLEASE

A Working Solution.

Remove any disk from the DVD drive.
Remove the hard drive and turn on. When you get to the dashboard turn it off again by holding the X button on the controller and select 'Turn off console'.
Wait 10 seconds and then turn on again by pushing the X button on the controller. When you get to the dashboard turn off again via the X button.
Remove the AV / Video plug from the back of your Xbox.
Replace the hard drive correctly.
Switch on the Xbox via the power button on the console. 4 red lights should flash.
Wait 10 seconds and re-insert the AV / Video cable.
You should now load into the dashboard with your hard drive profiles - wait theres more!
Turn off and on via the X button as before another 2 times with all leads and the hard drive in place.
After you power it off the second time, remove the power lead for 20 minutes and then turn on again any way you feel like it and it should be cured.

Sorry to say you got a bad hard  drive. Call MS or take the system back to walmart for a new 1 because I dont think they will give you a new hard drive. Who knows they might, call and ask!
