After successfully using the self-cleaning feature, I find I cannot "unlock" the cooktop. In other words, gas does not come to the burners. The owner's manual tells me to be sure to unlock the cooktop after all is cool...but it does not say HOW?! I am confused.

Re: How to Unlock the Cooktop?
The manual should tell you how to lock; do the same procedure to unlock. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

First take out the racks (unless they are coated with the same porcelan coating as the oven interior). Press the Clean or Self-Clean button. Press up or down arrow key - 3:30 will show in display which represent time in hours and minutes. You can press the up arrow key for more time, or the down arrow key for less time, but usually the default time is good. Then just press Start. The door will lock and the oven will turn on. In 3 1/2 hours the oven will turn off, but the door won't unlock for another hour.
To turn the Cooktop Lockout Feature OFF:
1. Press and hold (_ until "CLO" appears (Figure 3). Continue holding
until a second beep sounds (after 3 seconds). I_1will disappear from
the display indicating the cooktop may be used normally (Figure 4).
Note: Starting a Self-Clean cycle will automatically turn ON the Cooktop
Lockout feature. The cooktop will remain locked until the Self-Clean cycle
has completed and the oven door has unlocked. If a power failure occurs
after the Cooktop Lockout has been activated, you must turn OFF the
Cooktop Lockout feature before being able to use the cooktop features
An electric cooktop uses a great deal more electrical energy than a gas
cooktop. The electric portion of the gas cooktop runs the electronics
(clock, timer, ignitor, oven light, etc.), and these are small
electrical loads. An electric cooktop uses more electrical energy
cooking a batch of, say, pasta sauce, than a gas cooktop would normally
use in a month or two. There just isn't a good comparison as there is
such a broad difference in the electrical usage of the two units.
To Lock Or Unlock Cooktop 1. Turn all control knobs to OFF. 2. Press and hold the Cooktop Lockout icon keypad for 3 seconds. A single tone will sound, and “Loc On” and a cooktop icon will appear on the display. After 3 sec- onds the clock display will reappear. 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to unlock cooktop. “Loc OFF” will appear on the display for 3 seconds, and the cooktop icon will disappear from the display.
