I think my son "stretched" the hinges by banging the door down too forcefully. I beleive the hinges and springs need replacing....How does one do this?? Thanks

Me too. It seems to be "stretched". I think my son has been forcfully openning the door. How does one put new hinges and or springs. The iven still works but their is definate "play" when the door is in the closed position. Thanks Heymate

Whirlpool Range model RF386PXGQ2 broiler won't shut off

Hi.

If the element does not turn off, possible faults are:

Shorted temperature probe.
Test temperature probe reading impedance. If impedance is zero or lower than 0.500 Ohms, the the probe is shorted. A good probe reads about 1KOhms.

Contact at element. A contact in element wiring harness may cause the element to stay on. Do continuity test between ground and element and on wiring harness.

Defective control module.
If problem is none of the above, then it is the oven electronic control(ERC). The ERC can be tested reading voltages.

Testing must be done by a trained technician.

Whirlpool electric oven won't heat just barely

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

This indicates a open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around or less then 1100ohms then test the door switch. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I removed the oven door without putting in the door removal pins that I was supposed to use. Now I can't put the door back on.

How to remove door for whirlpool oven RBS305PDB2

open the door about 1/3 of the way and lift it off the hinge pins. it helps to have two people do this. when it is time to replace it, put the hinges in that 1/3 open position and slide the door back down on.

Daughter stood on door, now it won't fully close (the light stays on). Can I/how do I tighten the hinges? Thanks

Put a broom handle between the door and frame down near the hinge. Close the door on the handle tweaking it to where it will shut all propah. my friend. Good question you should run it by the pros at appliancejunk.com or fixitnow.com

Sounds like the door hinge springs are weak, it will probably be neccessary to replace them both.
