Question about Abit NF8-V Pro Motherboard
I want to swap my dvd/cd burner drive for a new one. What is the difference between ata, sata, pata? What size will fit? How do I know which one to buy for my HP Pavillion? Any brand or model recommendations? Thanks so much. Dennis
Get a PATA also called IDE drive. They are cheap and will work great in your box.You don't need the speed of SATA for a DVD drive.Even though they make SATA drives. Pata's data tramsission rareis much faster than even the fastest DVD. You have a four device potential for you IDE on your motherboard and only a two device potential for your SATA. Save the second SATA port in case you want to add a second hard drive some day
