Non-operating VCR My VCR suddenly stopped playing a film I had recorded and the symbol of a lock appeared on the screen. Since then haven't been able to play any tapes, though the will rewind OK. Inspected all the Menu controls but could not find anything applicable to this problem

VCR Lock activated-Can I turn it off?

Turn the VCR on and remove any tape. Press the record button and the VHS/TV button simultaneously. You should see a message saying the VCR is unlocked. It worked for me.
