Just bought and used but very hot is that normal

Hi Daun, it's Jack at Dyson.

Let me reassure you that it's normal for your Dyson Cinetic Big Ball to generate heat in use. You'll notice the exhaust air exiting the outlets in the ball shell feels warm - this is because it's just passed through the motor, which is also housed within the ball.

Like most Dyson vacuums, the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball is equipped with a thermal cutout, which would shut the machine down for protection if it actually started to overheat. Ordinarily this would be due to a temporary blockage, which should be easily resolved.

I hope this information answers your question, but remember our experts are on hand to help if you need further assistance at any point. You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Our upright Dyson has just stopped working. No

There are four possibilities:
1) If in a country that has a fused plug, the fuse in the plug (unlikely). 2) The switch (unlikely). 3) A break inside the cable that you cannot see (quite likely). 3) The motor is shot and needs replacing (very likely).

Have Dyson 14 . The rollers won't work. Have cleaned rollers. Jeanne

The thing with Dysons are they are difficult to repair. From talking to my tech, he tells me that your vacuum is pretty much a paper weight.

there could be a number of problems, the belt could be broken, the clutch could be shot. And the replacements parts are expensive.

Sorry to have to break the news to you

Where is the reset button on a dc14?

There isn't one. If the motor is not running you might have a bad on off switch or this model does have a heat sensor that shuts down the motor that may be faulty. You will need to send it back to dyson.

Vacuum turned off in the midst of vaccuming

Your machine has cut out because it got too hot. It will re-set itself when it cools down. The cause is almost certainly a blockage (the motor sound changes because it's not having to work at moving so much air). Follow the user manual guidelines for removing blockages. If you don't have the manual you can download one free from the Dyson website.
