Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

About two weeks ago, Hotmail downloaded a new e-mail page for me without my asking for it. The new page has on the left hand side a column which consists of inbox, junk, drafts, deleated etc. When I try to print an e-mail that I have received, it only prints half of it vertically and it prints the column on every e-mail. How do I reduce the column or put it someplace else. My e-mail address is jplindeman@msn.com. Thanks

Which email account there are many ?

It is not uncommon for users to forget their user names and passwords, especially when trying to access an email account not often used.
Email providers like Yahoo! and Google are aware that users forget and have implemented a way to identify the user in this situation. In order to use this retrieval method, you must have submitted an alternate email address when you signed up for that email.

Go to the email sign-in page.
Notice the option underneath the login fields for users that have trouble signing in; in Yahoo! Mail this option is "I forgot my Yahoo! ID" and in Google Gmail this option is "Can't Access Your Account."
Click this option.
Enter the alternate email address entered when you set up up your email address.
Yahoo! Mail users also need to enter the birth date, country and postal code entered when the email address was set up. Click "Next."

Log in to your alternative email address and click the email provided.
Your email user name is available in the body of the email.
Click the link within that email to reset your email password.
To reset your email password, the provider might require that you answer your security question.
Go back to the email sign-in page and log in using your user name and new password.

click on the account tab another page will open with if you have forgotten your password or are having trouble signing in yet another page will open get help with your password problem
or signing in click on it you should see something like I forgot my password or I know my password but am having trouble signing in I think someone else is using my hotmail account
at the sign in for your hotmail account click on forgot password tab another page will open then on the reset password tab

I cannot sign into my email acount on Hotmail, I changed my password several times a few weeks aho and now I cannot remember which password I used and I can' t get on no matter what I do.

Good Afternoon, Randtrdh:

When you set up your Hotmail account, you were asked to set an alternate e-mail address just in case this happened. On some scrap of paper you may have the correct information, or you may have sent a friend (or yourself) an e-mail from the new address to announce your move. You can also look in the alternate address, or mail sent on your Outlook or Windows Live Mail (if you set it up) with the account information.

Now you know the hazards of memorizing "stacked" e-mail addresses. But if you used the address even once you can save that account. Otherwise, chase down the post-it or envelope back.

Good Luck!

I am on the new beta yahoo now and i dont like it i want to be back on the old one i was on before

It is Not in Options....
To Switch Back to Previous Version of Yahoo Mail do this:
1. Click Help in the Upper Left-hand side of the Beta Mail screen.
2. Scroll down, click Return to Original Mail/Leave the Mail Preview
3. When you reach the Confirmation window, Complete the form, then click Continue.
4. Allow the mail page to Reformat.

You will then be returned to the Previous Version of Mail.

Should it be switched to "All-New Mail" - merely do this:
1. click Options at right side of mail page
2. click Mail Options
3. click Switch to Classic
4. Allow the Mail Page to Reformat to Classic Mail..

To contact Hotmail Customer Service:
  • Log in to Hotmail - ideally with the account you have a question on, but any account will do.
  • Click on Help, in the upper right corner of the Hotmail page.
  • Click on View other Help suggestions or contact us near the bottom of the left hand side of the resulting page.
  • Select Other - Contact MSN Hotmail in the Category drop-down list.
  • Fill out the contact form .

My computer has stopped downloading E mail to Outlook, it is on Hot Mail but apparantly the outlook Connector has stopped. Have been getting messages to upgrade for several months but the URL gigen only...

Hotmail not too long ago stopped their POP3 service for programs like Outlook and Outlook Express. I have advised my clients who use Hotmail to migrate to a POP3 free service such as Gmail, which can be easily configured for Outlook Express, Outlook, Blackberry, etc.

The upside is that you will be able to view e-mail in Outlook again. The downside is that there is no way to migrate the Hotmail e-mail into Gmail, other than forwarding each message to your new Gmail account. Additionally, you will need to notify all your contacts of your new address.

Hope this helped :)
