there seems to be something wrong with the camera lense. When i try to take a picture there is only a black screen. It takes a picture but again it comes out as a black picture.

Hello, Last time I used my camera it worked fine although I suspected that I may need to replace battery as charge didn't seem to last as long as it once did. I have recharged battery but the screen is black. Tried taking photo but can't view it.

OK, I just had the same exact problem today. It is a CCD, (an image sensor device) problem. This is a known defect possible in DSC-T1's manufactured prior to March 2004 ( You can have it fixed by Sony for free, though with a $15 shipping charge. To file a service request you can do it over the phone by calling 1.800.222.7669, or by using the following link:
Just so you know, we are lucky that this happened to us now, because the cut off for a free repair is March 2009! Good luck!

Have Sony CyberShot DSC-F707 Sony Memory Stick Duo Adaptor and Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo 4gb When installed get C:1301 error

In DSCT1 Camera, the C:13:01 error message indicates a Self diagnostic message. Each of these codes indicates the symptoms and resolutions of the Camera. In C:13:01, the issue is with the Memory Stick being used in the Camera.

The Symptoms are:

Memory Stick Pro Duo 4GB is not compatible with the DSCF707 Camera. Maximum capacity supported by the Camera is up to 128MB. Please try using a MS with 128 MB and check if it works. A dedicated adapter (MSAC-M2) must be attached to use Memory Stick Duo or MagicGate Memory Stick Duo media.
