I ran a scan on my laptop and it found 127 problems, also something called virustrigger keeps popping up but i cant remember downloading it. My laptop is extremely slow and my internet isnt working, there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. How can I get rid of all of these problems without having to download or subscribe for anything?
You will most likely need to use some software to assist in removing all the problem files. You can try booting into safe mode and manually deleting the offending files if you know where they are located. This anti-malware program is free: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ This is another free tool to clean up your system: http://www.ccleaner.com/. There are free anti-virus programs available such as http://free.avg.com/. I'd recommend installing something for protection in the future.
I would also download the anti rootkit from AVG ...as it sounds like the virustrigger you mentioned is starting up when you boot the PC
all AVG products are available at www.grisoft,com
choose the free version to sort out the problems and upgrade later if you want to
What are you using to scan? There is quite a bit of malicious software that poses as legit software.
I suggest downloading MalwareBytes onto a USB stick. Install this onto your infected system using the key. If you have a problem installing, try to open Task Manager and kill all suspicious processes -- then try to install. Let me know if you need more details on this.
