I ran a scan on my laptop and it found 127 problems, also something called virustrigger keeps popping up but i cant remember downloading it. My laptop is extremely slow and my internet isnt working, there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. How can I get rid of all of these problems without having to download or subscribe for anything?

I would also download the anti rootkit from AVG ...as it sounds like the virustrigger you mentioned is starting up when you boot the PC
all AVG products are available at
www.grisoft,com

choose the free version to sort out the problems and upgrade later if you want to

You will most likely need to use some software to assist in removing all the problem files. You can try booting into safe mode and manually deleting the offending files if you know where they are located. This anti-malware program is free: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ This is another free tool to clean up your system: http://www.ccleaner.com/. There are free anti-virus programs available such as http://free.avg.com/. I'd recommend installing something for protection in the future.

Good luck!

What are you using to scan? There is quite a bit of malicious software that poses as legit software.

I suggest downloading MalwareBytes onto a USB stick. Install this onto your infected system using the key. If you have a problem installing, try to open Task Manager and kill all suspicious processes -- then try to install. Let me know if you need more details on this.

Need to get rid of laptop virus

If your laptop is using a Windows operating system (not Apple), you can download a free antivirus program called Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) from their site. This program will need to be installed into that laptop, and then updated with the latest virus definitions. Then you should perform a full system scan to remove most of the virus's that are found.

If you believe there may be a really deep infection, you can also install additional software to search for other types of virus's or worms or trojan horses that MSE may not have found. I like to use Dr. Web Cureit. This is also a free download for use on a personal computer/laptop.

These can be downloaded here:

I scan my computer for viruse and have some , iwould like to clear everything up. i dont have a credit card is there any way to do this free

Are you sure your computer actually has one or more viruses? You may be a victim of one of the fake antivirus programs that can get into your computer. These pop up windows showing scan results that tell you all sorts of viruses have been found, but they're all completely bogus. The only real trouble is the program itself. Usually it becomes difficult to use the computer because the program keeps nagging you, or it refuses to let other programs run because they are "infected".

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is a good tool to start with. Download and install the free version. When you run the program, have it check for updates and then run a quick scan. It's a very effective program even in its free version and I use it frequently to get rid of nasty stuff on client machines. You can also install the latest version of one of the free anti-virus programs (Avast!, AVG or Avira) and scan your computer. Sometimes a new version or different program can find and eliminate something another program missed.

You can also find many removal tools for specific viruses if you need them. Bleepingcomputer.com is a good site with many tools and helpful information for getting rid of viruses.

When we turn on our note book it keeps coming up with Trojan.DesktopBlocker.cd and we can not get rid of this can you help

You have what is called a "rogue program: - more commonly known as malware. I suggest that you do a complete virus scan/removal, as well as using a malware removal program such as malwarebytes. This should solve your problem. You can download malwarebytes at this link:

Good luck!

A New problem I face with mcafee Antivirus 8.5.0.i

I agree. Re imaging or reinstalling the windows operating system seems like the only fix at this point since it seems like the anti virus isn't picking up the virus. Back up the files on an external hard drive and just reinstall windows.
