Vertical line on paper when printing

There is a vertical line about 1/16 of an inch on the paper when i print, this just happened, I think is because one of the label paper I put in the tray before printing on it had something, which I thought was ink on it that caused this problem, how do i remove it?

If that paper is rolled over the roller you will have to disassemble the printer to remove it,but if it is just on the printers upper side u can pull it forcibly to remove thast paper.

the two places to look is transfer roller and the fuser unnit.
i think there is a problem with the transfer roller it is under the toner and it needs to be spring loaded. The paper passes between the toner an the transfer roller to charge the paper en let the toner stick to the paper and if it doesn't make correct contact then it wont work

My Ricoh Aficio CL2000N is printing several faint lines

Couple possibilities:
Fuser hot belt has wear lines transfering to the page
Black pcu needs to be replaced
Transfer unit is not being cleaned properly and needs to be replaced.
Remove each of these assy and inspect them for wear or lines that corespond to the lines on your prints.

Small vertical lines in background

Very strange that the lines would appear on your prints aswell. Must be a faulty video adapter but I have no idea how this is getting to your paper - printer.

Get someone to look at the machine locally I don't think that we can solve this over the internet. thanks.

The line was not a crack in the glass-as I thought it might be.

However, I cleaned the two sides of glass with piece of clean kitchen roll and it is clear now!

Epson 9800 Prints black dotted vertical line

This is a workaround - I too need a definitive answer. Symptom: black dotted vertical line 1/2 to 3/4" from leftmost image edge. I have begun adding single vertical line to my prints .25" from the left edge of the paper to force the "dots" off my print - this seems to have the desired affect, but it does not answer the cause or provide a true remedy (it will save many of your prints while we wait for complete solution). dkh
