Question about ViewSonic VPW505 50 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
I've had my 50" Viewsonic Plasma for about 3.5 years. I tried to turn the TV on and it wouldn't come on. I tried it again a few minutes later, it came on for about 1 second and went off. We noticed that not only was the green "ON" button not coming on but also the orange button that indicates power wasn't on either. We checked circuit breaker..fine. We checked the Main power switch in the back..it was on. We thought maybe it was a bad outlet so we plugged it into another outlet but it still didn't work. We plugged a lamp to the TV's outlet to see if the outlet was the problem and it was working fine. Next we plugged the TV back into the original outlet and the orange light came on. We thought it was fixed. Within seconds the orange light went off again and we can't get any power at all. Spoke to the tech at the place where we purchased the TV. He said it sounds like it COULD be a power source and we needed to bring it in Does anyone know what that means? Just for them to look at it it's going to be $100. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks
the problem is not the mian board but the DC to DC inverters that drive the lamps behind the panels some manufactures make them available seperate from the panel but most are a part of the panel. so the whole panel may have to be replaced.

I have a 19" ViewSonic and if you hold down the 2nd and 3rd buttons together under the screen, counting from the LEFT, it will disable the Powerlock.
