Question about Flat Panel Televisions

1 Answer

My HDTV keeps turning off and on.

My Samsung 46in. LN46A750R1F HDTV keeps turning off and on and has no picture or sound, but the 'turn-on chime' keeps sounding. All I did was push the power button on the remote. I've already taken the remote out of the room, so I know it is the TV and not the remote with the problem. I put a blueray into the player and then turned the tv on when this started happening. Any help would be amazing.

46in Vizio LCD HDTV distorted black picture when tv is turned on

Hi There are three things that can cause this problem. Your lcd screen, t-con board or the signal board. Most likelly in your case since you say it's only half the screen it's going to be your t-con board. You can try removing it and cleaning all the contacts and replacing it see if that helps. If that doesn't help then replace it. If that does not solve it then it's going to be your screen.

I'm sorry, but you can't. They are like most (not all) Samsung models with the start up chime. It's built into the software. I will be speaking with a Sony Rep this week and will ask him if they have an answer to this issue. If I find they do I will post it on google. Just type "Its Sony Chime"

I have a 46in. Samsung LCD TV. It worked lastnight now I tryed to turn it back on and all it does is the power light flashes and it make's a clicking sound can you help thank's very much.

The clicking noise indicates that its a power supply related issue. When the relay switches turn themselves off you will hear that sound. The first thing you should try is to unplug the set and hold for 5 minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on? Why? Because a power surge may have triggered these relays and unplugging them will reset them so that you can see if the set turns on. Otherwise we will proceed accordingly and troubleshoot the components provided you can follow a schematic.

Replacing the capacitors would be a good start. Replace all the ones with the same capacitance and voltage rating even if they do not look bulge.
Let me know if you require further assistance.
