Re: printer not responding after a jam

When You have 3 lights blinking: lights 1- 3 (counting 1-power 4-waste toner indicator)
light 4 stays off all the time its
Communication error (F040 error)
Contact your Kyocera Mita dealer
You coud try to check all connectors attached to printers motherboard and see if it would help
as for 1,3 blinking solution
There is no paper in the MP tray.
Add paper to the tray. Press the key to resume
Feeding the paper having a paper size
which does not match the current paper
size from the MP tray can cause paper jam.
In other words just put Your paper cassete correctly in (there are known problems with the paper casete sensor not always detecting it correctly. You might also try to stick something - small sticky note fragment- onto the microswich to make it react somewhat earlier)

Re: printer not responding after a jam

Http:// Here is the link to the pdf manual for the printer. They show some light sequences and mention something about the old toner cartridge may need to be emptied/replaced. I'll let you know if I think of anything else. Tim

Printer Not Responding, 7 orange flashes

Don't replace the print head soooo fast...

Take the print head out first and clean the gold contacts...
I used a very fine sandpaper like emery cloth...

You might get 4 yellow blinks after that.
That is because the printhead was turned upside down to clean and the ink looked low and/or out.

Just wait a few minutes after cleaning and reset...
Mine worked fine after that.... smile....

Problems with printing

Make sure all cables are properly connected and not damaged. Try connecting it to a different port on your computer to make sure the port isn't at fault.

I suppose lights seem to be n"normal" on it? No flashing lights that may indicate problems or anything like that?

Canon s520

The number of orange flashes between green flashes indicates the type of error, as outlined below. Check the cause and take the appropriate action. Two flashes: Out of paper, paper jam or paper feed error Replace the paper correctly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button. If paper has jammed in the printer, clear the jam and press the RESUME/CANCEL button. Three flashes: Paper jam If paper has jammed in the printer, clear the jam, replace the paper in the printer correctly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button. Four flashes: Empty ink tank One of the ink tanks is empty. Replace it. If all of the above won't help, unplug the printer from the power cable, wait a while, and plug in. If that didn't fix you, I guess it's time to get in touch with canon, or a repair lab you trust. Good luck

Printer doesn't respond

The Power light can flash for several reasons: - The printer cover is open. - The printer is out of paper. - There is a problem with the printer, such as a paper jam or a problem with a print cartridge. if no error message appears any where: 1. Go to maintenance . 2. Click any of the four main buttons. This will tell the software to check the status of the printer. 3. Read any error messages explaining the problem and its solution. good luck!
