You have to go in BIOS and choose in menu to boot from USB device (USB HDD, USB FLOPPY, USB CD-ROM and other in menu). To go in BIOS you press DEL or F2 or another button who writes on the first screen after you turn on the laptop. Good luck.
Type in your browser Fujitsu Siemens support.
One heading will say support Fujitsu and under it the first heading will say downloads click it.
Where it says
Please enter either the Serial-/Ident number or the product name enter the ID that is on the base of the laptop all the drivers for that model will be listed and available for free download.
If the code on the base of the laptop is unreadable use the next box down
First rectangular box in the drop down menu select notebook
Second rectangular box in the drop down menu select AMILO Pro
Third rectangular box in the drop down menu select Amilo proxxx
Fourth rectangular box which says please select product in the drop down menu select V2010
Select your operating system and all the drivers will be listed in categories which you can download free of charge.
Hope this helps.
i don't know this model (amilo pro v2040 ), but usualy the memory modules are one under the other (so u should remove the first memory module to be able to insert the one underneth it) or one facing the other (and there should be no problem in inserting the modules...) If u don't succed, you should be able to find the tehnical book of the laptop on it;s producer site ....
It may be the lcd or windows, press F8 on start up and see if you get a safe mode screen, if so highlight start windows with last known good configuration and allow a re-boot.
If it is the lcd you can shine a torch at the screen to see if you can see the startup screen, if so the back light may be damaged and in need of a professional repairer
this could be a corrupt usb controller or web cam driver; but before we get too deep when it is booting up press F8 and you will get a menu, one of which will say, start windows with 'last known good configuration', highlight line the press enter for a restart.
If no luck with boot up come back.
