I can't get the rear cover off to acess the motor
SOURCE: in few minutes after turn on the projector (Eiki Lc-xnb4m) ..
are any of the leds flashing? could be overheating. blow out the dust with canned air. if the lamp is old, it could be that it needs to be replaced. if the fans go out immediately as well, it could be the power supply.

Look for buldging capacitors, or capacitors with black on the tops of them (like they got hot). Bad caps have left me dead in the water. Also look at all of your transistors (the ones with 3 prongs at the bottome (emitter collector base) look to see if some of them look burt or melted. Some transistors will have only 2 connected or maybe even one clipped off. Power transistors commonly have a screw at the top and screw into a "heat sink" or an aluminum block to help with heat. Hands down.... capacitors 9 out of 10 times have left me dead in the water. Heads up, capacitor manufactuers are manufacturing caps so that it's hard to see when the go bad, (buldge or blacken at the top). Looks like the old meausure voltage in parrallel and amperage in series will have to apply for these fixes. Get a schematic, change caps, check fuses for continuity. on my Eiki EIP-200 i notice a little buldging on C727 on my main power board (the board withthe Giant capacitor on it). Anything hot looking or burn marks, usually a replacment part is in store.
