That's a display driver problem, I think. when in safe mode, Rightclick th MY COMPUTER icon, and Click MANAGE click then on DEVICE MANAGER, on the right expand the DISPLAYCONTROLLED and rightclick your device then UNINSTALL. accept all, and reboot normally the cpu, it will normally reboot twice one to detect and reinstall driver, another to use that renewed config

Lcd screen goes black

Try to start your computer in safe mode by press and hold F8 keys until you get Advanced Options menu screen.Use the arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, and then press Enter, your computer will boot automatically to safe mode.
If you able to start in safe mode then update your deivers . just go the site of your Laptop manufacture. Once there enter the model number of the laptop then request driver (usually found in the web site's "Support Section"). There you should be able to find all the drivers for your model laptop
If this is helpless then simply get the Reginout to fix all the errors and corrupt registry which made this annoying issue

When i turn on my computer it starts to boot up then goes to microsoft windows xp.the next screen is a blu one thats says avg install path :c:\program files\avg\avg2012

See if you can uninstall AVG by booting up into Safe Mode.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity) and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. Uninstall AVG then reboot and see if you are ok. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus program.

If you still get the blue screen, Try running the Check Disk Utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc or a operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot from it. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with white letters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice the percentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run to completion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows. Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair when the options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recovery console and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

The computer starts but nothing appears on the screen with the processor's fan turning normally and the keyboard does not indicate(leds). it goes off normally when it is switched off

Try booting into safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly until the boot screen comes up. Select "Safe Mode with Networking" or "Safe Mode". Use device manager to see if you are missing any drivers. You probably are so install them and reboot.

Dear sir. i have aproblem with my computer. it is a hp pavilion desk top. my problem is that is not boot in the normal mode. when i turn it on the first page and the only page to open is the window...

No, it's not the boot.ini, without it you wouldn't get the boot options screen.
What you have is corruption - a critical file from Windows has been damaged or destroyed by a virus. Since you are no longer able to boot your only option left is to perform a full reinstall - get your recovery cd or an Windows install disk and follow the procedure.

Monitor does not work when connected to desktop . if i plug it into a laptop it works

Most likely the display resolution set in the desktop is unsupported. Boot in Safe Mode and change it to something that will surely be supported like 800x600. Next boot normally and try to increase it step by step till you reach what you want - if by accident you select another unsupported resolution and the screen goes black just wait 15 seconds an the pc will revert to the old setting.

Inspiron 1520-before finishes loading desktop screen goes black..

if it works fine in safe mode you should try a system restore . most of the time a problem that gos away in safe mode is driver related . IE software don't think you have a hard ware issue. you can call dell if you do not have the disk . 1-866-751-6079 call this number it's dell's Spanish tech support number but this is the fastest way to reach a real person at dell . just ask them to speak English and they will.

As it works ok in safe mode, I suggest you check that your graphics drivers are up to date.

You should be able to download the latest from the Dell website.
