The Palm Pixi uses CDMA on Sprints Network rather than GSM. CDMA phones do not have a SIM card in them.
To switch numbers on the phone, you would have to call sprint and have them activate it.

Yes, It can be "unlocked" and you can make it work on Reliance CDMA network. I just got my phone unlocked and using it on Reliance Network. Go with a reputed dealer who could unlock it; don't try doing it by yourself. I got it done from a guy who was located in Delhi via remote access.
Reliance mobile offers CDMA phones therefore your palm pre should fully work (internet and telephony) after configuration from Reliance. However for further inquiries and packages I advise you to contact Reliance.
