Incomming call alert automatically changes from load to silent

I have had a Motorola V197s from T-Moble Pay-as-you-go for about a year. The setting for incoming call alert misteriously changes from load to silent without changing any settings. Ever heard of such a thing?

My motorola v197 does the same thing only when i plug in the phone. For some reason this version of a motorola (that I know of) has 2 different profiles that activate or deactivate when you plug in or unplug this model of phone. So just set the ringstyle again like you would normally, only this time do it when it's plugged in. Hope this helps.

CHECK THE BUTTONS ON THE SIDE OF UR PHONE. ALOT OF TIMES U CAN COTROL YOUR RINGERS FROM THERE. FOR EXAMPLE, IF U HAVE IT ON LOUD...JUST BY MERELY TAKING UR PHONE OUT OF ITS CASE TO ANSWER CAN CHANGE THE SETTINGS IF THE BUTTONS ON THE SIDE ARE HIT ACCIDENTLY.

Ringer is marked as off on my blackberry bold 9700 and i have no sound

Hi,Sound profiles define how your BlackBerry device alerts you of phone calls, messages, reminders, and browser content.

Your device has a Normal sound profile and six other preloaded sound profiles: Loud, Medium, Vibrate Only, Silent, Phone Calls Only, and All Alerts Off.

By default, some of the settings in the preloaded sound profiles are based on the settings in the Normal sound profile. For example, when you change the ring tone in the Normal sound profile, the ring tone in the Loud, Medium, and Phone Calls Only sound profiles is automatically updated. If you do not want specific settings for a preloaded sound profile to update automatically when you change the corresponding setting in the Normal profile, you can manually change the settings in that preloaded sound profile.

You can create custom sound profiles. When you assign a custom ring tone to a contact, the ring tone is always active and does not change when you switch sound profiles unless you switch to the All Alerts Off sound profile. Call and message notifications for your contacts might be audible even if you switch your sound profile to Silent or Vibrate Only.

You can change, rename, and delete most preloaded sound profiles. You cannot delete the Vibrate Only sound profile and you cannot change, rename or delete the All Alerts Off sound profiles. You can change the Normal sound profile, but you cannot rename or delete it because some of the settings in the other preloaded sound profiles are based on the settings in the Normal sound profile.

Change a sound profile

If you change a setting in a preloaded sound profile that is based on the Normal sound profile, that change will override the corresponding Normal sound profile setting in the preloaded sound profile.

1. On the Home screen, click the Sounds icon.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
* To change the active sound profile, click Set Ring Tones/Alerts.
* To change a custom or preloaded sound profile, click Edit Profiles. Click a profile.
3. Click the application or item that you want to change.
4. Change the notification information.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save.
7. Press the Menu key.
8. Click Save.

Hope that helped...

My phones ring style is set to loud detail and volume is at the highest being 7,when I recieve a call it is silent?

Hi There,

As per my understanding you have set your ring style profile to loud and highest volume 7 but still ur phone phone rings on silent when someone calls..

Please change the Profile setting once again as mentioned below:

How to change call alerts and styles?

1.From the general menu, select "Settings" > "Ring Styles" > "Style Detail"
2.If you select one of the styles, ie. "Loud" you can then highlight by scrolling down on the wheel & select "loud detail" & press on the "change" button (top right corner key).
3.Here you will be prompted to change any feature available to the "loud" style: volume, ringtone, alerts, voice mail, text messaging sounds, reminders beeps etc etc. All you need to do is to select the feature you need to change with the directional wheel and press the "change" button for each.

If you think my solution helped u to resolve ur issue please do vote for me..

Thanks
Enjoy!!!

MOTOROLA W376G...turn off phone on ringtone

Hello!

Set phones ring style as "Vibrate then Ring" , "Vibrate" , or "Silent" to avoid the power on alert.

I set my ring style to "Vibrate then ring" so that I dont have to change the settings everytime I turn it on or forget to so when I receive phone calls or alerts it still rings & then I dont have to go back and change the settings again when I turn tha phone off so that is dosent have the power on alert.

This is the Only way I have found to turn the phone power on tone/alert off.

Change Ring Style:

-Go to Main Menu
-Settings
-Select Ring style
-Then choose change, & set it to the ring style you want.

How can i change my message tone on my samsung f480 from the standard tones set on the phone

Instead of changing the ringtone settings, tap the message alert tab (in the top centre of the display).
A set of message alert settings appears . You can change the Message alert type, if you want to, by tapping the panel and choosing the appropriate option.
To change the Message alert tone, press the Message alert tone panel .
In the menu that appears, press Change.
Then choose one of the options Use effect tone (one of Samsung's pre-loaded effects) or Use my alert tone (allowing you to choose from your own sounds) .
In this example, press Use my alert tone.
Press the Sounds option. In a similar way as changing ringtones (above) you now have the choice of choosing from your Music files, Ringtones that are loaded onto the phone, or My voice clips .
In our example, we'll again choose a file from our Music folder.
Press the Music option. A list of suitable MP3 tracks appears.
Tap the one you want in order to highlight it.
Press Options, then tap on the Select menu option to install it as your message alert .
You are now taken back to the Normal profile settings, where the Message alert tone has changed .
To save this change, press Options and then Save .
Alternatively, press Back and you will be asked whether you want to Save? Press Yes

I265 model

Go to your ringers menu, find the beep tone, (belive its ringer 10, while phone is the ringer is highlighted, press menu, then assign ringer as call alert. Hope this is what you're talking about. If you meant that it's not beeping when somebody presses the button to call you without alerting you, then you go to menu, settings, DC/GC options, and set "alert type" to ring. NOT vibrate or silent.
